Who should pay for the Iraq War? action needed
Send all your suggestions on who should pay for Iraq war to editors and your congresspeople.

Pay for Iraq war out of cola raises congress gives themselves every year right after the election.

By reducing congressional salaries to the same as the median income of the average american they can pay for the war. If we put them on the minimum wage they could pay for the war.

Bush can pay the bulk of it since he lied and it is his war and the rest of congress who voted for it can pay the rest.

We the people can not pay for the war.

1. I've been thinking........
since we seem to be carrying out foreign policy for Ariel Sharon and his Little Buddies in the Likud party......

Why not take the cost out of the loot we send Israel, while Sharon stays in charge. I mean... it would probably take 50 years but it's a start.

6. did you start it
did you start it?? I didn't start it. I was against it before he became appointed. I said he would get us in a war before the election even happened.

Bush started it, congress gave him too much power so they started it.

we, the people, did not start it.
Our soldiers followed orders.

The president has plenty of money to pay for it. Saudis can help to.

7. Yes, we did.
We the American People, through our elected officials, started it. Sucks. Ain't fair. Unfortunately it's true though.

8. I didn't elect bush he was appointed
since bush was not elected and he started this, then he and the supreme court can pay

We the people did not start this. Our government did not listen to the people.

I did not elect those senators from my state and from what I can tell they don't care what the people think. Their responses to letter writing is to tell me what they think and how they will vote but not what the people think and what the people want.

We the people means we got a say. We had no say in this appointed president.

The 'elected officials' as you call them made a decision, they now have to pay for their decision.

10. He was elected. Sorry, but true.
It dosen't matter that our government didn't listen to us. We did elect them to make these decisions in our place. By giving them the power to make these decisions for us we are by default accepting the results of those decisions.

We had our say in electing this President, and the members of COngress who abrogated their responsibilities in this matter.

Yes, the officials we elected to represent us in these matters made these decisions. Therefore it is, to an extent, our fault and responsibility.

Who is profiting from it? That's who should pay. Isn't that how capitalism works?
