How 'dumbed down' can we get?

I heard a poll today that showed that a majority of Americans believe that Saddam still had WMDs when the invasion a year ago. Here's my question to all these clear thinkers:
If a nation had WMDs at its disposal, and had not yet used them on its neighbors, what is the likelihood that they would be used if said country WAS BEING INVADED?
Would someone obviously much smarter than me explain why they were not used for self-defense? :crazy:

Did he let it be know to "neighbors" he had them...maybe...sort of like the old lady in the tenement who makes dog barking sounds when she hears somebody outside the door...

4. Silly, it's because

he wanted to make * look dumb in front of everybody. He hid those weapons so that * would lose credibility. He knew he could use them, and fight back, or he could hide his weapons, get caught and go to prison, but still "win" by making * look like he was wrong to go to war. Fortunately, most real Americans aren't falling for Saddam's trickery.

5. Don't Blame the American People

Americans are a good bunch. Generally, Americans tend to believe their leaders when they are being presented with a crisis.

6. Bush was contradicting himself on the WMDs from the get-go

and the majority of people in this country has absolutely no ability to spot some glaring inconsistencies.

How many times have Bush's cronies or some military expert shown us some footage taken from a satellite where they identify Osama bin Laden or some other prominent enemy?

Now, if our satellite technology is so advanced that we can identify A SINGLE PERSON from way out in outer space, don't you think we would be able to see some type of manufacturing and transportation of WMDs with that same technology? Then, we reportedly have drone airplanes which can take pictures and footage from closer to the ground.

Can anyone put one and one together, or has this country been so dumbed-down from our society's oversaturation of right wing talk shows and reality TV shows that we wouldn't have the smarts to wipe our asses unless an authority figure tells us?

8. Remember when we were all begging for proof..

..and the Bushco apologists and sheeple were willing to settle for rationalizations like "They must know something" and excuses like "we can't show proof because it would 'compromise' our 'intelligence capabilities'"

7. To confuse the dimwitted...

The purpose of the barrage of WMD, giving money to the terrorists, etc... (all lies) was to barrage the dimwitted neocons so that they could blindly believe that Dubya is protecting their children. Hell they don't believe the RayGun administration gave them the chemical weapons to begin with!!!
