Confessions of My Obsession

I gotta wonder why I even bother to post here with the few responses I get. Obsessed I guess. I started my opposition to this war by focusing on the soldiers. I purchased a computer and a domain and started a site that I filled with resources for returning soldiers. Man, you should have seen the looks on the faces of the peace marchers as I offered them free t-shirts with 'support our returning soldiers' on the front and a peace sign on the back. I marched, stood with others on a corner in my community, hosted marchers at my home, donated food and water at rallies. I've written countless letters in support of our soldiers and in opposition to the invasion. I wrote a book about the military corporatism in this administration and published it with the last of my retirement money. I wake up everyday with new resolve and energy for the fight to end the occupation and to bring our soldiers home. I'll most likely be here tomorrow with a new angle on my obsession. I've got to believe that I am making a difference to continue. To turn away now would resign me to the solitude of the choices I've made over the course of this conflict. I hope I can make a diference. I'll be back. Hope to hear from some of you when I post.

That our words and opinions will make a difference. I havent had time to write a book yet but I have a start..Unfortunately, the Bush regime slowed me down and I feel it is my duty to fight them each and every day in the best way I know how. Thanks for your post and your work.

It's like, once you get it in your bones that you care so much about your country, and the people, and the direction it's going, you become like a parent....every dirty diaper becomes sacred! You can't think of anything else except the object of your attention.

I share your concerns, if not your devotion.

Neocon war supporters tried to subvert "support our troops" to mean "support the bushgang's war," but efforts of folks like you have shown that those are not synonymous.

What's worse, the bushgang's lack of a clear mission, abysmal planning for post-invasion Iraq, lack of an exit strategy, lies about the reasons for invading, and continued poor treatment of veterans shows their true contempt for our fine service people.

As a military "brat," with long and deep ties to the US military, I hate the way the bushgang have used our military like Hitler used the Wehrmacht.

I will check out your site. Keep fighting.

I clicked on your thread because your name is a familiar one to me -- I've read your posts, but I'm sure not always responded. Sometimes when one's in agreement, you feel you have little to add, or sometimes it's a subject you don't know a lot about, and don't want to be seen as posting just to be posting. Maybe we should think about adding a few words more often, just to acknowledge posts.
