The Bush Administration hoped that ending Saddam Hussein's regime would inevitably resolve the Israel-Palestinian conflict. But Anti-American sentiment is as strong as ever. Images of U.S. troops clashing with civilians across Iraq appear nightly on Arab television and Bush's support for Ariel Sharon's policies only fed the U.S.'s negative image.
