Dr. Robert Bowman, USAF Ret: Some dare call it Bush's treason...
John Kerry, Hilary Clinton and Tom Daschle:

What does it take for you all to call a spade a spade and speak truth to power?

http://baltimorechronicle.com/041704reTreason.shtml

snip

Here is the truth that we proclaim. This war has nothing to do with national security or freedom or democracy or human rights or protecting our allies or weapons of mass destruction or defeating terrorism or disarming Iraq. It has to do with money. It has to do with oil. And it has to do with raw imperial power. It is based on a pack of lies. And it is wrong. Those who forced this war on an unwilling world are guilty of flagrantly violating the US Constitution, the UN Charter, and international law. What they have done is illegal, immoral, unconstitutional and TREASON.

It's been said that somewhere in Texas there is a village looking for their idiot. Now that may be funny, but it misses the point. George W. Bush is not an imbecile. He is a TRAITOR.

Before this war started, we knew it would fracture NATO, split the United Nations, separate us from our allies, and destroy the great nation we inherited from our fathers who died in World War II. And it has. We knew it would make our beloved country feared and hated, an outcast from the world community, a pariah among the peoples, and the number one rogue nation on earth. And it has. It has done so based on a pack of lies. My sisters and brothers, that is not stupidity. That is TREASON.

We knew this sadistic corporate war would incense the Arab world, provide thousands of new Osama bin Ladens, and enormously increase the terrorist threat. And it has. We knew it would further endanger the American people and destroy our national security. And it has. That is not stupidity, it is TREASON.

The cabal of neoconservatives at PNAC who planned this war (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Libby, Perle, Jeb Bush) even before W became president, knew the American people would not stand for it unless there was a new Pearl Harbor. 9/11 supplied that. Our government was warned. They were warned by the Clinton Administration. They were warned by 11 other countries. And they were specifically warned by an FBI agent that one of them was planning on flying a hijacked airliner into the World Trade Center.

1. God Bless Dr. Bowman! I'd vote for this guy.
From the aritcle:

As a combat veteran, I will not stand idly by and watch our security destroyed by a president who went AWOL rather than fight in Vietnam. Honor requires that I call this by its right name. It is TREASON.

8. Dr. Bowman quite well understands...
what the American prosecutor...the Honorable Judge Robert Jackson... mentioned at the Nuremberg war crimes tribunal in his opening statement which can be found here http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/imt/jack02.htm With the way this bunch of bloodthirsty Fascists have laid to waist 226 years of democracy and bloodshed to keep democracy alive...it just seems that everything of which Judge Jackson mentioned has been set into the wind...and only a FEW EVEN SEEM TO CARE!!

9. It's the television. And the booze. And the pills. And the dope.
And the hate. And the greed. And the ignorance. And the sloth. And the war.

But most of all, it's the TV. It benefits chiefly the Bush Organized Crime Syndicate. Just like the other things do.

Thanks for the link to the great resources of those days when justice was served on the "banality of evil," HOWLIN_WOLF!

Here's to what should be their first stop in January 2005:

4. We need these people desperately
We must all rise up, but we need a groundswell of people like Dr. Bowman and Richard Clarke to speak up.

Silly me, for a while I actually had hopes that Colin Powell would break from the criminal cartel and tell us the truth. Then I found out he's been working for the Carlyle Group.

Yoo-hooo! Where the fuck are you? Come on in and explain how this obviously extremely intelligent, unabashedly accomplished, undeniably patriotic man comes to the same conclusions that so many of us here have been saying since 9/11.

10. This is an excellent idea, Mari.
Everybody should. WHENEVER you see a commentary or article where the writer's contact info is given, USE IT! If they wrote something wonderful, LET THEM KNOW!!! If their piece sucked, LET THEM KNOW THAT, TOO! Writers and reporters and pundits everywhere need to be reminded that they are not speaking to an exclusive club of neocons only. THEY NEED TO KNOW WHAT - AND WHOM - THEIR REAL AUDIENCE IS.

Dear Dr. Bowman

I just wanted to pass on my thanks to you for your fine and courageous article "Some Dare Call It Treason: Wake Up America." If America does wake up in time, it will be because of true American patriots like yourself unceasingly pointing out that the boy emperor and every man jack of his corrupt and venal court are parading before the world in their birthday suits, and the fine garments in which they are allegedly arrayed exist only in their own imaginations and the imaginations of their lemming like, propagandized followers.

Are you aware of an article called "Brainwashing America" written by Dr. Norman Livergood, former head of the Dept of Artificial Intelligence at the US Army War College? If not, I suggest you read Dr. Livergood's article as it explains why there is so much resistance on the part of so many to accept that they've been hoodwinked and played for suckers in one of the most massive con games in history. Here's the URL for Brainwashing America: http://www.hermes-press.com/brainwash1.htm

Thanks and best wishes

14. FINALLY someone has the balls to say it out loud!
TREASON..Bush is a TRAITOR.

Anyone who has cautiously followed the thorny path Bush has led us down, and paid attention to their gut instincts along the way, knows above all that Bush is a TRAITOR.
His people, cut from the same cloth, hijacked the true Republican Party, and the only charge I see them fit for is TREASON.

This should be the true mantra from here through eternity. They should be called out on every move they make.

Its time to tell the truth.
We indeed DO have plenty of proof to back up our charge.
They, however, have nothing, but what they are.

Now, can we hear a little louder from people with the power to say it publicly?

25. Good for him!
What I don't get is why more people aren't saying this when it's so far beyond obvious. Do they not see it, or are they afraid of criticism? I saw Wes Clark on some show the other night, asking, "What's the mission? What's the mission?" and saying "President Bush" needs to clarify the mission so the people can get behind it. Now Wes Clark is at least as smart as I am. Does he really not know what the mission is, or is he just afraid to say it for some reason? I have a hard time respecting him and others I know are smart enough to have figured it out but refuse to speak truthfully and instead keep pretending there's some noble purpose and good intentions behind the war in Iraq and the whole bogus war on terror and expressing support for the troops and repeating the bullshit line about it being a good thing that Saddam is out of power. Meanwhile, people keep dying and the rich old men who are responsible for their deaths are walking around freely - i.e., outside of prison - lying like mofos and making more money. It makes me sick.

26. Wes Clark was questioning what the mission of the troops was...
NOT the hideous agenda of the bush cabal. It was exactly the right question to pose. Wes cares deeply about the soldiers that are being put in harms way for "a war that didn't need to be fought". What IS the mission of the troops from your perspective?

27. I believe the mission is
to take over Iraq, control the oil, and build permanent military bases. So the immediate mission of the troops is to subdue the "insurgency." What do you think it is?

28. The point Wes Clark was making was that the mission of the troops...
has NOT been spelled out by the bush cabal. What you have pointed out is the agenda of the bush cabal and Wes was pointing out the misuse of the troops who don't have a "mission". He was pointing out there was and is no plan after the "fall of Baghdad".

www.rmbowman.com And if you'd like my newsletter, send me your snail mail address. (By the way, LA is my home town.)

Bob Bowman

How 'bout that?

BTW: Here's the email I sent him yesterday...

Dear Dr. Bowman,

I am speechless - dumbstruck with admiration. Your
commentary "Some Dare Call It Treason" is brilliant.
It needs to be said. OVER AND OVER. It needs to be
read and reprinted and reread. OVER AND OVER. It needs
to be everywhere. I found it on the internet, and I am
in awe, but at the same time disappointed that it
isn't all over the Washington Post, the New York
Times, the L.A. Times, and more, plus every network
newscast and cable outlet in the land. The rest of
America so desperately needs to hear this, so
hopefully at least a few of them will WAKE UP!!!

This isn't a commentary. It's a public service of the
most courageous kind! My compliments! I'm keeping a
copy to revisit, and to savor. Thank you for speaking
out! Sure wish more people would.

and I signed it as an online reader in L.A.

GUYS - on another note - I DO indeed get emails back, personal ones, from these writers and reporters and columnists to whom I send emails. Many of them respond. Helen Thomas responds - probably because she's so grateful someone out there isn't sending her more hate mail all the time. Sidney Blumenthal responds. A BUNCH of 'em do. THEY WANT TO HEAR FROM US!!! Frankly, they NEED to hear from us!! Those who write good stuff should be encouraged! Those who don't should be promptly reprimanded and set straight. Plus, they need to be made clearly aware that it's not a world of wall-to-wall bush-lovers, enablers and excuse-makers out there, not by a long shot!

I say this alot here on DU, but it's worth repeating:

IF THEY THINK WE DON'T CARE, THEY WON'T, EITHER!!!

Like every time I send a thank-you to Paul Krugman. But SOMEBODY - an assistant or secretary or possibly even the addressee - reads these and makes note of them. It's just a REALLY good thing to do. These folks have to know that people of OUR mindset are out there, too - and are VERY much an audience whose needs and interests should be recognized and addressed.
