Lincoln Chafee is kicking butt & taking names!!! |
|
Sen Chafee, Repub of Rhode Island, today at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearings was scathing in his criticisms of the Bush Administration.
He said before the Iraq War, he went to Langley, was briefed by the CIA & knew there were no WMDs & he voted against the war.
He said the Bush Admin has changed U.S. policy of the past 6 Presidents by backing Sharon & not being fair to the Palestinians.
He said the Bush Administration lives in denial, & there was no further reason to question the people at the hearings, because what they were saying was wrong.
And that was just a little of what he said. He rocked!!! Not only did he tell them the war was a sham, but our Israel/Palestinian policy is wrong.
He also talked about our dead soldiers & what this war is costing us.
FINALLY, someone in Washington on 2 major issues, is saying what I think is right.

3. He is too good for the Repubs |
|
He is a big enviro, he is honest, & he is treated like crap by his party.
Olympia Snowe is the same, but she is not outspoken like Chafee.

5. Is this the group that had Pearl talking? |
|
Why Pearl, he knows nothing about Arabs and wasn't he fired? He is the pal of the crook that took all the money in Jordan and they wish to run Iraq. Crazy.

Makes me proud, he does. His father was truly beloved in this state, and a lot of people thought Linc won the senate seat simply because of the family connection. But he has proved himself to be every bit as moral and courageous as his dad. I wrote him a long email letter about Iraq on Monday... maybe he read it! I have had personal responses from him before that were not just form letters.
I do wonder why he sticks with the rethugs. He gets nothing from them, they'd like to see him gone, he votes against his own party on almost every issue. He should switch sides, or go independent. I think he's a more outspoken critic of this administration than anyone we have on our side of the aisle save Senator Byrd.

He supports issues dear to my heart MUCH more than Gephardt!!! He could also help bring about considerable reforms by forcing the moderate Republicans out of the closet and into the forefront. There are many more of them than noecons. The only way we get past this internal occupation and stop the right wing agenda is to overcome them vocally and in numbers. This includes the nutty xian reconstructionsts. (Sorry they aren't worthy of being called "Christian" since they ignore most of it). The trouble is, they keep getting a rubber stamp for a truly sinister agenda by the barely right of center based upon a mythology that Republicans are more "moral".

12. And yet,he sticks with his Party..??? |
|
He had the chance to leave and he chose to stay with the dictator's regime. He's playing for the Democratic and moderate votes in the upcoming election. Then he goes back ot playing his Dem vs Repub game. He's a Republican by choice.

14. Joe Lieberman plays the same game fairly well as a Democrat.... |
|
And to a large extent, Zell Miller played the same game. I do not admire those types of politicians...They do get re-elected because they sit on the fence while everyone else is getting dirty...

16. New Englanders still don't realize the Republican Party left them. |
|
He and Snowe and Jeffords are relics of Republican liberalism. They are no longer welcome in the Republican party, and it's about time they woke up and smelled the coffee.
Republicans should post a sign on their party office: Moderates need not apply.
