Freeper busted in on my Kerry Meetup last night!
We were in the middle of the meetup (one woman was talking about unemployment) and this crazy guy barges in and says, "You guys complain about jobs now, well you won't have any jobs to complain about if we get attacked again! We have to vote for Bush because we have to get rid of all these terrorists and we need to take down these Muslim countries blah blah blah" and he's like foaming at the mouth and we're all like... um... The lady that was running the show just said, "Thanks for your opinion, sir," and he yelled a bit more then left.

Psychos.

2. We had a few hanging around outside the door of our meetup.
They were just eavesdropping. I went over twice and invited them to come in and join us. They finally turned around and left. Fortunately, they were not as rude as your intruder.

We don't have any jobs to complain about now, that's kind of the problem. :) :) :)

5. Yes
enraging the middle east and pushing for conquest of Islamic countries and more attacks and choosing sides in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will most surely keep us all safe from attacks. Seeking conflict resolution is always a way to set off attacks and hatred. :eyes: Its so obvious we must choose bush so we can be protected by setting off 25 years of global war. This is such a rational approach.

6. I don't understand it!
Why are people thinking the Chimp is "stronger" on terrorism? I just don't get it. A majority believe the invasion of Iraq made us *less* safe, yet a majority prefer the Chimp on security issues. Go figure!

7. The "Do Something!!!" Syndrome
Why are people thinking the Chimp is "stronger" on terrorism?

Some people are satisfied that the government is doing something about terrorist attacks. They don't evaluate what is being done. They simply need to know that we're doing something.

It's the same sort of thing at work as is at work with the "law and order" mantra that was all over the campaigns a good while ago and the initiatives that flowed from it. Some people want to know that the government is doing something about crime in the streets. They don't seem to notice that harsher sentences and more executions aren't making much difference... in fact may even be ratcheting up the over all level of violence in the country. They are satisfied that there is a response, no matter whether there is any correlation between the response and the goals they are looking towards.

These people see talking and negotiations and task forces and such as essentially "doing nothing" and they see addressing the root causes of the problem as "rewarding the criminals and terrorists." All evidence to the contrary, they persist in their views as the "real answer" to problems because they need to "do something"... usually something physical.

8. Well recognize this is
a deliberate strategy, to haunt the meetups. Obviously they haven't much more courage or brains to do anything except to exhibit fear or rage and then leave. They don't bring intellectual ammo or clubs, be thankful for that, but remember they have been encouraged to seek out these meetups by their fearless Freep leaders.

They will also write back and lie outrageously how they disrupted and faced you down. This illusion may bolster their self affirming self confidence but it is a sad delusion that will work for us if they think they are being effective reactionaries.

9. It makes an interesting psychiatric subject to study as to why
this guy felt so compelled to go somewhere he was clearly not welcome to deliver such a message.

I guess the voices told him to do it.

Then he'll go post on FR how he freeped a Kerry meet-up and get high fives for making an ass of his self.

10. Should have "stayed in the Lounge and built a post count above 1000...
- or the in-person equivalent. But I guess some freepers are just too impatient.

11. Where was this?
Last time I checked in, you were debating between attending the one in Framingham or the one in Worcestor.

Framingham has such an active anti-Bush group that I'm guessing Worcestor.

13. Glad that didn't happen at mine
I honestly don't know how I would have reacted to that. For Busheviks and their Brownshirt Bushevikism, I have a damned short fuse these days.

Loud, angry verbal retaliation at minumum (it would have depend entirely on the Brownshirt in question, I would never strike first).

As I said, I am very grateful that it didn't happen at my Meetup.
