8. Too bad Bev Harris can't find a link between Diebold and SCO
If just one connection between Diebold and SCO was found, the Diebold servers would be instantly slammed down, and every personal detail of every employee of Diebold would be instantly communicated worldwide.

5. Slashdot is a nerd haven
Basically it is a news and information site run by and for nerds. If something interesting hits their page it gets very big attention. They can actually shut down sites just by getting interested in them. A site that has been slashdotted is one that got posted to Slashdot and the subsequent number of people going to look at it shuts the site down because of traffic.

Basically it means the uber geeks are onto the issue.

6. If you get slashdotted
It typically means that the nerd geek site known as slashdot did a story on your site and put a link their story.

What happens is a million or so geeks within minutes of seeing the link click the link and bring your site down hard. This is called being slashdotted.

It is usually a good thing when a news item catches the attention of slashdot because a lot of people see the news beyond just news or politico types.

Also, in fairness to Slashdot, they have covered Diebold a lot.

4. Lots of good info and insight there
Not surprised that /. is covering it, and glad to know there's a whole 'nother group being proactive about spreading info!
