Here is how to really show CNN how we feel |
|
First we need to attract the interest of the major activist internet organizations such as Move On. org (over 600,000 members). Then in unison we send emails and petitions to CNN's major advertisers formally declaring a mass boycott of their products and services. I would also organize picket lines outside their corporate offices protesting their financial support for CNN.
These advertisers have very thin skin. Once they see that we are serious and they start to feel the heat they will pull their ads. As they say from my neck of the woods, "money talks and bullshit walks".
Let's not get mad - let's get even!!!!!!!
What do you think?

I was trying to promote a similar idea on DU a couple days ago. My idea was to boycott CNN for one day to show our viewing power. Perhaps, we can spend this day of CNN boycott to bombard CNN advertisers with protests. I say we get others on DU behind us an start a campaign to have MoveOn or other bloggers support us. I have one concern about MoveOn -- the organization may not want to piss off the networks b/c it relies on the CNN to run its ads. For this reason, I think we should focus on bloggers....whaddya think?

3. I think it will just make FOX more money. |

I have a better idea. Let's just take our airwaves back. Starting with the radio. We own them. Why can't we use them for something useful? Let's write a Constitutional Amendment banning for profit beings for using the public airwaves. Get the capitalists off the air. Money corrupts everything it touches. They're 90% of the problem. We could deal with the other 10% (fairness, truth, garbage) with federal and state legistration. If we got 10 million signatures it would wake them up.

Notice their advertisers Kingdom Holding Corporation (Saudi Arabia) and Kerr McGee. These people are Bush administrations supporters. And won't give up soo easily....

7. Its not gonna matter people... |

We fucked up in the 90s by not starting our own media outlets.
Until we get our own voice in the media, we are screwed.
CNN makes it's money from tax cuts and sweetheart deals...the viewership barely even matters anymore.
As long as GE doesn't have to pay taxes thanks to the Bush's, they aren't going to stop whoring.

If I ever see another CNN crew doing a remote feed, I'll be treating them to a free egg breakfast. Shells and all.
Remember the guy who accosted Novakula with taunts of 'traitor?' I'd get a warm tingly feeling all over to call the rest of them whores whenever they go out in public. They deserve nothing but contempt and abuse.
