I raised $280 for the DNC and $250 for ASPCA.
On another note, I talked to a woman from Texas, who feels disaffected by the dems. She never knows where the caucus is held, she feels that the Dems have become more like Republicans and have folded to them for the last 25 years. She agrees that things are better under Dems than Republicans but she still feels that the Dems have left her and many others behind. I am preaching to the choir, but we do need to elect Kerry. But we also need to drive home that we Democrats need to be Democrats and not Republican lite. We need to listen to the Howard Deans and Dennis Kucinichs and the Russ Feingolds of the party and not the Joe Liebermans or Zell Millers. If we continue to be puke-lite, then there may be more Zell Millers. People who outright betray their party. Elect Kerry, be pragmatic but call for change.

Texas precinct conventions are supposed to be held the night of the primary at the respective precincts. All she (& other texans) need to do is vote (either on election day or during early voting), then show up around 7 at their particular precinct. HOPEFULLY, the county democratic chair will have organized things so someone is there with a list the delegates can sign & state who they wish to support at the county convention. (i will NOT go into the fiasco that happened here in webb county :grr: at least the 2 republicans who showed up for their convention were nice & told us what to do.)
the county conventions are held on the 2nd saturday after the primary & the announcement should be in the paper. if not, contact the elections office &/or the county democratic party. delegates to the state convention are selected there (in webb county, i'm going because i showed up & signed my name; in counties like Travis, you actually have to politic a bit). :)
