Importing drugs

I don't know if this topic has been discussed at length on DU. I really am considering writing my congressman and senators - 2 Rs and 1 D, though I am not sure about Dayton - to point the hypocrisy of the pharmaceutical industry crying that they need money for R&D. Before anyone is listening to them, let's find out how much they spend on the ads for all their drugs which require prescription, anyway, so it is not as if one can go and buy Viagra (in theory, at least).

I did not watch the super bowl but heard that the ads for "ED" were plenty and those cost, what a million or so for 30 seconds?

And I am still amazed at the crying about Canadian drugs when for people who live along the Mexican border, seniors, mostly, crossing the border to purchase drugs in Mexico has been allowed, with a limit of three months and with a prescription.
