Woodward's latest book is following the same phony path as his last one
Edited on Fri Apr-23-04 09:03 PM by glarius
Remember when he wrote the first one, "Bush at War," a couple of years ago, it was initially thought to be critical of Bush and was blasted by Limbaugh et al and then after a few Woodward TV "interviews," a whole different slant seemed to emerge, and Bush came across as not a bad guy after all.....The same thing is happening with his latest, "Plan of Attack."...He seems to me to be very cunning about keeping everybody happy. He throws in just enough mildly negative comments about the Bushies to make himself sound credible....I think he's disgusting. Watching him on Larry King tonight was sickening....:puke:

1. That is exactly what he did
So he could sell to both sides, pro and anti Bush.

2. Bush's biggest liability in this election is lying about WMD in Iraq...
and Woodward's book puts this whole issue onto Tenet - a skeptical Bush is strong armed by Tenet's Slam Dunk statement.

See:
The more I hear, the more I distrust the Woodward book...

3. Exactly. I listened to his interview with Al on Air America.
Woodward seemed to kissing Bush's a*s. Said he was a strong leader. I had to leave to go to the bathroom and throw up. Said Bush believed Bush was protecting Iraq when Bush went to war. I said, "That's it. I'm not buying the book." Republican shill (Woodward).

4. he lost my respect during his Dem debate coverage on CNN
Honestly, i never followed the guy much before i started seeing him on Larry King during the debates with Dole. He was totally unengaging.
I thought it was funny how he and king were always promoing the book and Woodward was still unsure about a title.
And then, after deep introspection...PLAN OF ATTACK.
I know it doesn't mean a whole lot, but i remember laughing my ass off when i heard what the title of the book was.
