"Woodward always misses the point"

I agree.

"Many reports of the prewar buildup have emphasized the role played by the Office of Special Plans, a small unit that Rumsfeld set up inside the Pentagon to scour raw intelligence, which the CIA had passed over, suggesting Iraqi WMD and a link with al-Qaida. It is also clear that Ahmad Chalabi, the ambitious Iraqi exile whom Rumsfeld and others were grooming to take over postwar Iraq, was feeding hyped-up—in some cases, outright false—intelligence, often directly to Cheney."

Did Woodward just 'miss' it or is he a closet PNACer? You will notice if you read the book that Woodward diverts attention away from the PNAC very carefully.

1. Another question is.....
Edited on Sat Apr-24-04 12:16 AM by dennis4868
why does Woodward assume that everything Bush and his thugs tell him is the truth? The WH has not earned our trust!

I also agree with you about Woody missing the point....but it is not just Woody. The entire mainstreem media ignores the fact that there was a secret government in the Pentagon. Also, dont forget the White House Iraq Group (called the WHIG)that was OSP's cousin in the WH, led by Karen Hughes and Mary Matalin....they were feeding the press with lies during the run up to the war.

2. I don't buy Woodward's shit.

The White House would not let him set foot on the property if the guy could do any real damage.

3. Woodward plays to both sides...pro and anti Bush
He says just enough in support of or against Bush to keep both sides happy and thus SELL BOOKS!

5. I don't think you guys got it
Woodward put the cuffs on the Bush administration tonight.

It doesn't matter what he didn't nail them with, what matters is that he nailed them, and what he has he has on tape.

Bush was dumb enough to walk right into it. He used their hubris and arrogance to get them to basically brag about it.

He clarified what the book says as ranscriped from the interview. Without a doubt, the war plan was decided.
