I hate Shrub because I love what the United States was.

The world knew, yea those Americans, they can be fucked up sometimes, but when disaster strikes, when political systems crumble, when evil rises to threaten mankind's very existance, we can always count on the Americans.

Shrub and his masters have taken that away and I HATE them for it.

I have no degrees or formal education, but common sense. I grew up Republican and as conservative as you can get. Bush changed that. He's demonstrated the double standard beyond comprehension for starters during the 2000 campaign. His lies are so incredibly lame that they contradict everything he said only days before, and he doesn't even think we, as the joe public, can follow his lack of continuity. It doesn't take a lot to see through it and with the help of bought off media, he personally thinks he's untouchable. Guess what. Everytime I turn around, more and more people quietly lift their heads and say "I'm not buying his crap and I'm not voting for the jerk this year." But we still have to worry about valid vote counting, something I'm not comfortable with, only with a strong windfall.

12. I went from "dislike" to "hate" during the South Carolina primary

when * had this "below the radar" campaign against John McCain that was beyond despicable. He took someone who had done something he had been too chickenshit to do -- serve in Vietnam -- and put out the word that McCain had been "brainwashed" by the Vietnamese, that he had told his captors everything and thus was a traitor, that his wife was a drug addict, and that he had a colored child. All this was going on thru "push polls" and local small town radio so it wasn't picked up by the major media (who would have probably ignored it anyway).

As someone who served on active duty (although after Vietnam), *'s actions went beyond the norms of campaigning, even for someone trained by Lee Atwater (who died of brain cancer, if I recall).

I had never hated anyone in my entire life until that moment. He is still the only person I hate.

But, as Tom Hanks said in the movie "Punchline": "I'm not someone who merely hates -- I'm a 'hate stylist'." (It's funny in context.)

I agree completely with you. I saw this empty suit frat boy lose the New Hampshire primary, & then go on to South Carolina. With the help of his so called Christian friends, they ran the most vicious campaign I have ever seen, & I have watched plenty of them.

But the larger irony is the hypocrisy of this person who preaches God & love, & then smears a good man & his family. McCain displayed more character in 1 day of captivity as a POW, then Shrub has in his entire life.

I also have a strong connection to the military, & these actions were reprehensible, IMO. I dont know how McCain can stand being in the same room with him, but his response is {If I can forgive the North Vietnamese, I can forgive Bush.}

There are still many people who don't realize what we lost. I was persuaded by my husband to stay and not leave the country. I pledged to do whatever I could to bring back democracy.
