GWB*: Liar and Traitor - Why can't Democrats come right out and say it?
- Zell Miller says he's going to vote for him. Lieberman and Daschle have intimated that he's doing a fine job in fighting the war on terrorism in Iraq and other places.

- Too many Democrats voted for Bush's* version of homeland security and the patriot act...many not bothering to read the full text of the bills before they signed on. They helped give us Zealot Ashcroft and the war of aggression in Iraq.

- This isn't spin from the corporate media. It's the plain truth. The Neodems will reply with disdain and insist that the Democratic minority had no choice but to go along with Bush*. But the Democratic leadership could have chosen another path: taking a principled stand and refusing to vote for what they knew or should have known was wrong for America and the world.

- Having given the Bush* government a BLANK CHECK to fight a perpetual war against a faceless enemy...Democrats are now confronted with the fact that they've helped create a monster who cares nothing about civility, diplomacy or democracy.

- The Democratic party finds itself at a crossroads. They can stay the course and status quo and watch as the nation falls into chaos and totalitarianism. Or they can admit to themselves and the world that they made a mistake in giving the Bush* government the power to operate outside the Constitution and International law. This admission would be the first step in restoring a two-party system, coequal branches and representative government.

- The Monster will not submit to accountability, rule of law or fair elections. Be forewarned and don't depend on voting to rid our nation of this false prophet...this wolf in sheep's clothing. This outlaw government must be prosecuted for their many crimes against nation and humanity. To do otherwise is to ignore that the Monster has broken his chains and nothing short of a full confrontation will stop the rampage and bloodlust.

- Now more than ever...America needs a Democratic party willing to fight FOR the people.

1. Because the democratic congressmen(women)....
were cowered into a corner during the 9/11 "attacks".
How else can you explain them voting in favor of such things as
the "Homeland Security" dept and the "Patriot" act?

BUT, did you see any of the "evidence"? Did you see the bio-reports?
Did you see the autopsy reports of WHAT these people died off?

Keep the blinders on citizen...enjoy it.

unless they're two sides of the same coin and we all know that they are.

face it we need that oil and we ain't leav'n till its GONE no matter what side of the asle you are on. we are only kidding our selves to believe otherwise.

and it explains all that we have been witnessing the past 3 1/2 horrid years... from both sides.

sure the reTHUGs are ruthless about this because they realize thats what is required to accomplish the shared goals of securing our VITAL NATIONAL RESOURCES/SECURITY is RUTHLESSNESS, same as it ever was.

kerry knows what is required and he is gonna do his damndest to make sure that the movers and shakers understand this as well, but it's not just kerry, it's most of the mainstream dems, think how upset hiliary was with being led into this war based on LIES on LK the other day.

we all know, zinn, chomsky, parenti got it right for the most part and that untill weTHEpeople press these issues to the fore NOTHING will change.

DU plays a VITAL ROLE in that. even if our only stage is the folks we meet in our daily lives that is enough because the TRUTH will spread like a virus and we will have an impact like weTHEpeople ALWAYS have and are.

so don't dispare as our politicians act just like politicans because at the end of the day it is we who will determine the ultimate destination of this nation by voicing our opinions and getting the truth out there that challenges their CARTOON WORLD VIEW and we all know that PERCEPTION is EVERYTHING.

psst... pass the word ;->

peace

13. Bush has served his purpose for the Globalization of the World.
And by popular World Vote, has been deemed unfit to serve as a representative of a World Super Power. The TLC needed an ignorant gunslinger to get hold of Iraq's oil and Bush has accomplished that. He relishes being a thug, but who needs thugs to do our thinking for us?

Oil prices are up, interest rates are down, the economy...well, you can't have everything. However, Clinton admirably demonstrated the economy can be fixed with a little planning. The main thing is, the rich have permanently benefited by their new tax savings...and all is well in TRUST FUND Land...

Now, all we need to do is get rid of this pesky bonesman bully that has brought shame and degradation on the US and restore our image as peacemaker and benefactor to the world.

8. maybe because the Democrats already support/ed
a moderated version of many of the egregious things that Bush has implemented. As John Kerry said of W's Iraq adventure, "there was a right way and a wrong way to do this." In general, the Republicans favor the throw the frog in the boiling pot of water approach, while the Dems favor the turn up the heat slowly approach.

12. Daschle, Kerry, Gephardt,
Pelosi, Clinton, etc. etc. these are beltway indsiders who are so enarmored of their powers and priviliges they don't want to do anything to jeopardize their status quo. Face it, these people are not there as representatives of their constituencies. If they said or did half the things Democrats are supposed to stand for they wouldn't last very long. Howard Dean and Dennis Kucinich are the lone voices who speak on behalf of what most of us want and look where that has got them.

I think quite a lot of democrats believe that the whole Democratic party machine is rotten and will remain that way for as long as it hangs on to Terry McAuliffe. I agree wholeheartedly with Q that: "America needs a Democratic party willing to fight FOR the people." Unfortunately, I don't see such a party in existence right now. What we will get if Kerry is elected is an ersazt democrat who will pretty much carry on as a watered down republican. So far the only democrat who has come out publicly that he regretted giving Bush the go ahead to invade Iraq is Senator Jay Rockefeller. so much for taking
" a principled stand' and acknwledging that the "vote for what they knew or should have known was wrong for America and the world." The "principled" politicians? They live in Spain and other parts of the world unfortunately.

14. As I wrote Sen. Kerry several months ago, his failure to come out
and call it like it is (BushCo are liars!), has not only disappointed me, but millions of others. He retains my (unenthusiastic) vote, only because I am a committed ABB.

And, as I've written before, I also have no confidence whatsoever, that Kerry, if he wins, will seek arrests and prosecutions of BushCo principals for their criminal acts. How do we expect any change of the political status quo, if the opposition is willing to ignore the horrific crimes and treasonable offenses committed by those now in power?

No real, systemic change will be forthcoming in November. It is the core of our political system that is rotten. Oh well, one step at a time. Get rid of Bush, then it's time for real revolution, and a return to the roots of our constitutional republican democracy. And if the Democratic Party does not want to lead this revolution, then they too will be swept aside.

One step at a time..... Miles to go before I sleep...

17. "It is the core of our political system that is rotten."
- We got Reagan and then Poppy Bush. Afterwards we said the same thing: get rid of Poppy Bush*, 'then it's time for a real revolution'. When will we finally realize that simply getting a new president is not enough to make the kind of changes this country needs to practice real democracy?

- Hell...we found out in 2000 just HOW CORRUPT our whole political system was...when both parties stood by and did nothing as our very democracy was perverted by the 'supreme' court and paid thugs.

16. "How come the rich get TWO political parties...
...and WE don't even get ONE?" (Michael Moore)

In OTHER words; Two things keep the Democratic party in line:

1) $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

2) Blackmail $$$$$$$$

The second one includes intelligence information that can be used for everything from the threat of scandal and losing one's elected seat to the threat of outright elimination.

We are RULED by a GANG of DRUG DEALERS and MURDERERS. What the hell else do you want?

19. "Loyal Opposition"
I agree, that would be MORE than a good start--that would be about half or more of the SOLUTION.

However, I don't see that coming, do you? Especially from much of anyone identifying as a "Democrat." That doesn't mean I don't vote for them, I do, and I will vote for Kerry.

But a "Loyal Opposition?" I don't see it.

20. I see a loyal opposition...
...in Democrats like Byrd...Kennedy...Kucinich...Dean...but they've been effectively silenced by the 'new' leadership of the party. They're considered 'liberals' and traitors to the 'new' Democratic party.

- Is it a coincidence that the Democratic party lost their ability or willingness to fight when the 'new' Democrats took control? For two decades we've seen a steady decline in the number of Dems willing to speak out against the RWing onslaught against OUR government. It seems they gave up when they allowed Reagan and Poppy Bush to escape justice in Iran/Contra. Can you believe it? The Reagan/Bush government actually sold American weapons to TERRORISTS and got away with it!

- Not only did they get away with it...but many of the Players in Iran/Contra have gone on to become millionaires and 'heroes' to the GOP. They're honored by RWingers as those who kicked the asses of Democrats/Liberals and eluded responsibility.

- We're now reliving history...as the Bushie Republicans laugh at Democrats for their weakness and lack of resolve.
