In the 1960s, a Catholic Democratic presidential candidate with the initials "JFK" was decried by conservative Republicans as dangerous because he would do the bidding of the Vatican whilst president.

In 2004, a Catholic Democratic presidential candidate with the initials "JFK" is being decried by conservative Republicans as dangerous because he WON'T do the bidding of the Vatican if elected president.

Have we come a long way or WHAT? :D

You know you just can't make anyone happy.
If you live by your ideals, you can't cut political deals.
If you live out your faith, all issues are forgotten except religion.
I haven't seen many REPES actually DO what they profess. THey surely don't spend the night with me helping in homeless shelters, in day cares, and in schools. They aren't "ministering" to any homeless or AIDS victims, or building the houses for Habitat for Humanity.
They seem to like to send some cash and think it makes up for thought and personal caring.
