Although the Bush administration has lost its way in Iraq, ordinarily articulate and intelligent Republicans are avoiding public comment about it. They appear to be playing politics with the lives of our soldiers. The war in Iraq can't be a partisan matter. Surely Republican intellectuals (such people do exist!) have a moral responsibility to enter into a dialogue about where we are headed.
Republicans are the first ones to raise a hue and cry about patriotism. Why are they uncharacteristically silent about the situation in Iraq? Can it be that the deaths of our soldiers won't bother them until after the election? There's something un-American about that.

Bill Clinton felt the war was wrong, so what did he do, protest. Bush was for the war so what did the do, go AWOL. It's ok to have the poor and blacks go fight the war while they sit at home on their rich fat ass and put "Support Our Troops" signs on their SUVs. Disgusting!!!
