Something that has bothered me about the news programs. The pundits, the Senators, the Representatives that appear all have their opinions. Some are good, some stink. The one thing I have yet to hear from our Democratic friends on panels is, "Citizens of America, there is a madman in the White House. He is leading us to total destruction and taking the rest of the world with us. Are we going to go along for the ride, or are we going to take a stand for our country and our Constitution?"
We at DU have known all along what we have in the WH. Patriotism has no boundaries. Those who say we are "unpatriotic" for speaking out do not know the meaning of the word patriotism.
I have been on this earth for 71-1/2 years and have never experienced what we are now going through. It sickens me and frightens me--not for myself, but for my children and grandchildren. There may be no America left for them if our country is governed in the future as it is now. Now is the time for out party to speak out, to hell with toes that on stepped on. Political correctness never won a war.
Thank all of you who read this.

i wonder what kind of world we are handing over to our children and future grandchildren. (if i were 43 and childless, i would not bring kids into this world, the way I feel these days.) politicians will be the death of all of us, sorry to say...and this is the worst group of heads up their arses we've ever had, the whole kitandkaboodle from congress to the WH! just roll over and play dead, they do...i think they've forgotten who elected them. i'd like to fire the lot of them!! posthaste!

I agree, I've been frightened too, but there is reason for optimism lately. The news is getting out there, however slow it may be. People are waking up. In my own life I can see a difference in the people around me. Six months ago I started a new job. Most of the people that I work with were wearing flag pins then and there was no talk against the Bush administration's policies that did not send someone into a patriotic fit. Not so anymore, over the last two months this administration has had a lot of blows and people are speaking out. The majority of the people that I work with now agree Bush has got to go.

3. Yes, opinion of the citizens are changing. |

But we have to wait until November to change. This administration has done enough already to warrant impeachment. If we have to wait until November this corrupt government may stop the election. We may have martial law. There is nothing they will not do to ensure their survival. If we wait until the dam is broken we will not survive the deluge.

4. Teddy Roosevelt once said |
|
that an American citizen should stand by a public official only so long as and to the extent that the public official stands by the Constitution.
Our founding fathers' own patriotism was not directed toward ANY government but toward the land and its people. To blindly support the US government when that government is going against the tenents outlined in the Constitution is about as UNPATRIOTIC as it gets.

It's amazing to me, too, that the truth about Bush is never spoken, and all, including Democrats, pretend that he is like any other occupant of the White House. I always expect, after each of Bush's rare unscripted appearances, that a tv commentator might remark on his struggling for words, or his lack of knowledge -- but nothing is ever said. Both Bush's shortcomings, and the danger he poses to our country and the world, are unacknowledged elephants in the room.
