Bingo! Woodward: Bush Cut and Run in Iraq?????????????
Yesterday watched Tim Russert interview with Woodward. Been pacing back and forth in my mind for weeks after I heard of so many of the salivating corporations canceling plans to set up shop in Iraq because it‘s way to unstable now and for years to come. I wondered how long it would take Bush to cut and run (do you really think he’s there for love of the Iraqi people??--this animal only bleeds for the rich). As Woodward goes from interview to interview, he’s becoming more and more supportive of and apologetic for Bush. Therefore, I sat up straight when this came out of his mouth.

He told Russert (and all his body language and facial expressions telegraphed it) that Bush may very well at the end of this year (note, that that is after elections) declare that all the objectives in Iraq have been met; ie., no more Saddam and no weapons of mass destruction; and, thus, pull all our troops out and let the Iraqis cope as best they can. Even Russert was shocked--and , remember, Woodward is the boy let in to more of what is going on in this administration than God is.

I am so beyond livid. This son of a bitch lied us into this war. He caused the deaths of all those American soldiers, the deaths of ungodly number of Iraqis and the wounding of unbelievable numbers. He has brought the hatred of every nation upon this country and we will need their help desperately in this war on terror. He has broken our national budget and tells us we have to give up SS, Medicare, Education funding, etc. to pay for it. And this scum (and he is SCUM) is now on the campaign trail, pounding his ape chest and declaring how we have to “stay the course” and “finish the job” just so he can get four more years in the Oval Office!! I would love to see the dropped jaws of Americans when he springs this on them shortly after November. I would love to see those military families who have buried a loved one and go on tv telling us how we have to fight on and more die so that their loved one’s death is “vindicated”!! Or, what message are we sending to the Arab world??---the one the leaders there have feared. With our turntail, they will have uprisings all over the middle east. How will Americans enjoy a REAL oil crisis???

And, I’ll guarantee you, Georgie in a second term will sit behind his desk and gleefully sign legislation to jack up middle class taxes to pay for his follies and his re-election. Please join with me in e-mailing Blitzer, Matthews, Inside Politics, and many more and tell them how this came out of the mouth of Woodward and ask them to do segments where they have their “panels” discuss whether or not Bush is jerking this country around for re-election purposes and will cut and run once the election is over!!! They worship Woodward--so why not discuss what he alluded to???????

1. Woodward is a crony for Bush
he is protecting this imbecile administration. He should be ashamed of himself.

3. Are you sure? I heard him nail Bush on Larry King Live this Friday.
Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 06:36 PM by Must_B_Free
he said it's all on tape. Bush agrees that he was planning the war during the runup, not that it was a tentative plan.

5. MustBeFree- Yes, I'm sure. This was an hour long inteview and
Woodward got a little sidelined from the stuff I've heard him say over and over again that is in his book. Apparently this is NOT. I about dropped my teeth--and so did Russert--when he went off on this tangent. He started to somewhat bad mouth Bush in saying that in the end all still goes to to the top guy just like a corporation and if the results are a fuck up, then it's the top guy's responsibility, etc. And then he drifted into this. Goddamn it. Like I said, I had the ugly feeling for a few weeks as those companies abandoned Iraq that this pig was playing us through elections and then is going to cut and run.

2. Well said,"Babs Song." I just kicked the CNN "DU e-mail Protest" thread
to try to get more folks to send them a protest. Please go after CNN. It's bigger than MSNBC. If we can do what the Repugs have done and have an "e-mail effort" to go after them, then we can all feel we've done our own "PROTEST OF THE WHORE MEDIA!"

Please FAX,PHONE, E-MAIL CNN ABOUT THEIR BIASED CORPORATE INTEREST MEDIA POLICIES!

4. something else occured to me
about the delayed offensive in Falluja. (At first I thought it was too bizarre, then I remember who we are talking about and anything is possible.) Wilson's book comes out this Friday. Unlike Dean and Woodward or even Clarke, it is very, very personal. He is going to name names, he is going to expose blatent lies, and have facts and dates. I wonder if dumya wants the coming battle and bloodbath in Falluja to silence any publicity of the book. He's already proven their lives are only political pawns to him anyway.

6. Oh, I'm quite sure they will dream of something---so far they have
dodged what we thought of as "bullets" and they will do so all the way to election day. BUT, I want CNN and MSNBC and all the whores to address what Woodward let slip. This guy is no anti-Bush and he's the only one they let inside. For him to say this is a real possibility should be headline news and not what kid Michael J fondled.

7. I saw that and think Woodward was pimping Bush to...
moderate voters who like to hear that economic rational
plays a role in Bush's thinking.

He implies that some level of cost in blood or money will
make Bush reconsider the occupation and declare victory and
come home.

After all Iraq has no WMDs and Saddam is in an undisclosed location.

This is reassuring for the logical minded who want to do
things for reasons of self interest.

The problem is Bush is guided by voices and leads a proto-theocratic
crusader state that has enacting the book of revelations as its main long term goal.

Well redirecting as much cash as possible into his factions pockets
in the run up to the big beam-up.

8. Last week I posted a thread
predicting that Bu$h would pull out most of the troops after the June 30th handover.

I will be the perfect time to declare that operations in Iraq have been completed. Saddam is no longer a threat. Iraq is free of WMD's and it is time for the Iraqi people to decide their own future.

Then he will drawdown the troops and retreat to the 4 permanent bases that we've set up their and focus on protecting the oil infrastructure and the hell with the rest of the country.

Of course, with 100,000+ troops coming home, there will be huge homecoming rallies, parades, parties and W can attend a few of the big ones and get good photos that he can use for the campaign.

Then once he is reselected, all those troops can get redeployed to go after Syria and Iran.

It's a win-win for W, all the way.

11. LittleApple--Saw it yesterday and repeat later in the day.
It was on CNBC. Not his Meet the Press but where he sits at a round table with guest on the other side---whatever that is. This is when Woodward drifted into this.

10. "Cut and run" ain't gonna happen.
You're forgetting that one of the main motivations behind this whole exercise is the building of permanent US military bases (14, I think) in Iraq.

No, GW will "stay the course" no matter how many Iraqis and US soldiers get killed in the process. It's Empire or bust -- and while it may in fact "bust", it won't be because bushco has given up on Empire, it will only be because the "other superpower" -- the PEOPLE -- have successfully brought an end to the neocons' imperial dreams.

13. But--just as this is getting out of hand for the greedy corporations it is
also going to be out of hand to establish bases. I'm sure deals will be cut with another strong man. Arms will be supplied. The animals that used to be there will, in essence, be there again with arms and money from the USA and we will be granted bases and oil. But now the costs are threatening all the other lovely stuff (like getting the rich to pay no taxes or us to pay the rich our taxes in homage)that he has planned. I, indeed, can see him cutting and running.

14. Well, I don't have a crystal ball
But I seriously doubt that bush* will WILLINGLY "cut and run". It's possible that circumstances MIGHT force it, but, imho, that's definitely NOT in the game plan.

I would speculate that it's more likely that there's another major "terror attack" in the works to consolidate bushco's power, and this will put Iraq on the back burner -- while under the radar, the PNAC plans for Iraq will continue.
