Don't Dare Bring this Up in the Campaign---or that, either
I'm so sick of hearing the same trick this disgusting media pulled in 2000. Every day they have a list of things they warn Democrats "not to bring up or make an issue of" in the campaign. Be that "class warfare" or "Bush's religiosity" or "the Iraq war"....isn't it interesting that they NEVER have a list of things the repukes should not do?? For the repukes it's "let it rip; make up what you want; lie; attack" and the force be with you. Well, we have always fallen for these warnings. Dean is the first one who told them where to stick their warnings and, thus, ignited the party (and I wasn't a Dean supporter). I'm sorry to say that I'm starting to see Dems fall prey to it again. We now have lamebrain Lieberman going to make an address that the media is all excited about regarding warning both Bush and Kerry about Iraq "talk" (they don't cover Kerry but they are going to cover the jerk we flushed in the primaries as though he speaks for this party). And we have people like Biden making certain that people know he's about 97% with our noble president but has a few disagreements with him. Why the hell can't we put the lid on these people?? And then there are are great leaders who have suddenly disappeared--AGAIN. All we need is them heeding the 'warnings' of the media whores, sprinkle in a little Nader, and we have the receipe for the pefect disaster in Novemeber. My heart goes out to Kerry---with backing like this, who needs the Bush machine, money and propaganda media!!

2. I agree
that Kerry seems to be falling prey to the same media tricks that Gore endured in 2000. I'm a little disappointed that he doesn't seem to have found a way to counteract this yet, but I am not willing to blame him. It's still early, and we , as Democrats, have to let Kerry know NOW that we expect much more aggressive responses from him. Nothing should be off limits. Hell, if the media warns Kerry to stay away froma topic, it should be first on his list for the next day. That's just a sure sign that if Kerry talks about it, it will hurt *. I thought we wanted that. I also agree that other Dems need to be out speaking for and supporting Kerry in large numbers, and that we all need to be on the same page. Why isn't this happening? I'm not overreacting, or blaming Kerry, but I am worried. We need to get it together! Maybe we should each e-mail our representatives to be more supportive of Kerry publicly. Couldn't hurt.

3. I think Kerry is doing a pretty good job of addressing these things but
the media covers nothing except "did big John get served cookies and juice at communion today". It's a real lack of others joining in and then this crap I just mentioned like Lieberman going to make a big windbag speech that they all will cover. Way to go, you little pompus asshole. Attacking Kerry is just what we need. That sums it up with this douche bag. I hate these bastards who try to crap on our nominee because nobody wanted them. I call it the "Nader" syndrome.

6. Sometimes I feel
like even Democrats don't appreciate how in the bag for * the media is. Our only chance this Fall is to be united against this regime, because it's like a two on one fight. If the media did their job, maybe there would be room for differences within the ranks. But, since they won't, we have no choice. People like Lieberman and Biden are hurting their party's nominee, and that's the bottom line. If we were organized, we could hit any Democrat we saw working for * on TV with tons of e-mails.

4. Bring everything up, that's what I do
Screw them trying to tell us what's allowable and what's not. They aren't running this thing, they just think they are.

One thing about repukes, they LOVE to tell other people how to live their lives, but HATE it when people do the same to them.

Screw that!

5. Totally agreed.
Ultimately, this is about leadership. It's about who's stronger.

Yeah, it's frickin' primal, but it's true. This is a dick-measuring contest. If Kerry doesn't show Bush that he's a stronger leader than him, Bush will win. In order to do that, Kerry is going to have to break open issues that the media define as "off-limits," and oppose Bush where he is wrong even when presumed by the masses to be correct. That's going on the offense, and that will beat Bush. The presidency is going to have be TAKEN FROM the Republicans- they're not going to give it away.

And I'm not talking leftist stuff, here. I'm talking common sense. I'm talking about making a passionate argument where one is deserved, and calling Bush on the hundreds of mistakes that he has made.

7. Then they start whining about "going negative"
Mind you, it doesn't apply to their side. But when anyone points out the failed policies of BushCo they are branded as "negative".

8. I know
and that's worked so far because we've let it work. We need to call them on it, with one voice. Say it's not negative,it's the truth. My point is to counter whatever they say directly, and to have all Democrats on TV reading from the same book.
