How well did cable news cover the huge march today?
Did they cover it? Give it air time? Or did they yap about Michael Jackson or pick over right wing lies about Kerry's war record?

Was it fair at all?

2. It only matters if the people at the march VOTE!
The crowd was huge, the message clear. Each person present must vow to engage at least 10 people to vote for the Dems in 2004.

3. I watched about two minutes of CNN
before I got too disgusted and turned if off. They showed the march and a clip of Hillary. Then they spent more time with a woman who once had an abortion and is now anti-abortion rights. One million+ march for abortion rights and the whore media uses it as an opportunity to support those who want to take away reproductive rights. :puke:

4. Just saw a CNN story

can after everything else, said there was only 300,000 marchers,
used generic pictures, no overhead shots like the ones posted here.
Didn't see any speakers or interviews with either pro or anti.
They did say there were "a couple hundred" anti-abortion
protesters.

Were there really 1.2 M marchers?

How does one count?

<snip>
Using standard crowd estimate methods, March participants were counted in designated grids on the National Mall, which are designed to hold a predetermined number of people. The March also verified this count by assigning 2,500 volunteers to stand at key entry points to the March area and at bus drop-off locations and count people by placing March stickers on participants as they entered these entry points.

10. How about a computer count

A decent overhead photo, blown up and scanned at high resolution, then
some simple "head count" software. Won't count people hidden under
trees and not in the photo, but should give a reliable estimate.

7. Yahoo AP news pegs it at "tens of thousands"
Geez, takes a lot of tens of thousands to make up a million. You'd think they could count better!

8. They will have an accurate count
Everyone at the march was asked to enter their names on a sheet. Once they compile all the sheets they'll have a definitive count, but it'll take a long time.
