National Day of Prayer
I saw a big banner ad at the New York Times website for this National Day of Prayer. From their website (www.nationaldayofprayer.net): "On Thursday, May 6, in communities across America, millions will unite on their knees at noon for the 53rd Annual National Day of Prayer, to pray for our troops, our leaders and our nation."

Here's something I suggest they pray for:

1. Interesting...
...and following this "event", they can claim whatever numbers they'd like, and the media will probably report those numbers. Meanwhile, a march of over a million REAL VERIFIABLE PEOPLE is played down as "tens of thousands" in the corpofascist media...

8. hundreds of thousands
From the AP report:

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- Abortion-rights supporters marched in the hundreds of thousands Sunday, galvanized by what they see as an erosion of reproductive freedoms under President Bush and policies that hurt women worldwide."

...

"Authorities no longer give formal crowd estimates, but various police sources informally estimated the throng at between 500,000 and 800,000 strong.

That would exceed the estimated 500,000 who protested for abortion rights in 1992."

...

I think most people reading this report will get the impression that it was a huge event. Why not take satisfaction in a successful march with an amazing turnout? Sometimes the media really do just report what happened.

3. OK!
I will pray that bush loses in November and leaves Washington DC forever.

I will further pray that Jeb suddenly loses all interest in politics and power.

I will pray that every member of the extended bush family decides to leave the political area for all recorded time.

I will pray that my governor (Perry) decides not to run for re-election in 2006.

I will pray for the Iraqi and Haitian people.

I will pray for peace on earth.

Sounds good to me!
