Dennis Miller interviews Lynrd Skynrd - bad. |
|
Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 10:51 PM by ArtieBoy
This is non-political and it was a repeat show, but did anyone else catch this? Dennis Miller was interviewing Lynrd Skynrd's singer Johnny Van Zandt, who is the younger brother of original singer Ronnie Van Zandt. Miller was asking him, "So what was it like when you brought 'Freebird' into the studio?" He was probably three years old! His BROTHER wrote that song! Johnny Van Zandt tried to tactfully explain to Miller that he had only joined the band in the late `80's and his brother was killed back in the mid-`70's, and his brother wrote the songs he was refering to. Miller keeps going, "Wow, you look great for having been in rock n' roll 30 years." He's only been in for 15! HE'S NOT THE ORIGINAL SINGER! HELLO!
Once again it's non-political, but I just found this interview embarassing to watch. I'm not even a Skynrd fan and I knew these factoids. Dennis Miller doesn't seem to know music any better than he knows politics.

4. Miller is desperately untalented. |

I think his switch to the Republicans is just a last-ditch grasp for some kind of audience. ANY kind of audience. It's embarrassing to listen to him try to be "oh so hip" when he's "oh so washed up."

I always wondered why he never appeared in SNL sketches – just the news guy. He's a one-trick pony.

6. That show is a fucking trainwreck.. |
|
It's like he doesn't give a rat's ass about any of the guests and just sort of falls asleep the entire time.
It's really amazing to me that he has a show.
