Stand Up and Holla! . . . RNC essay contest . . .
any young DUers wanna have some fun? . . . :)

Who?
Young Adults Ages 18-24

What?
An essay of no more than 300 words that answers this question: Why is the President's call to community service important and how have you demonstrated it?

How?
Write your essay and fill out the form below. Ten finalists may be invited to film a video clip that will be posted to the web and voted on by the public.

Why?
Because what you think matters... and the winner may deliver a speech to the nation during the 2004 Republican National Convention.

When?
The deadline for contest submissions is June 15, 2004. Voting will be available on the Convention website and on the RNC's voter registration vehicle, "Reggie the Rig," and on MTV.com. The winner will be announced on MTV's TRL.

Eligibility
You must be between the ages of 18-24 years old to be eligible.
You must be available for travel to the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City from August 28 - September 2. Travel and housing will be provided.
You must be a registered voter. Submissions will not be considered complete until we have received a faxed copy of your Voter Registration Card at (212) 356-2280, attention Essay Contest.

Guidelines
Essays should not exceed 300 words.
Decisions are final and no essays will be returned.
Winner will be announced mid-August.

Community service is a cornerstone of our Democracy. How else can we fight terror if not by shooping at walmart, visiting invalids and coercing minorities to serivce communities?

Now when I say servicing the community it goes without saying I don't mean like that Monica Lewinsky girl. I mean moral God-fearing work. How else will we keep those unlike us down?

As we all know, Al Qeada is linked with Iraq. Iraqis blow up their communities after we bomb them. It is therefore important to make sure that our communities are not destroyed after we bomb abortion clinics.

And that is why I support community service.
