Anne Frank Photos and Film Available On New Website |
|
Amsterdam (APF) 1:42 Sunday April 25 (This is an absolutely fascinating web site- MUST SEE especially in light of what is happening in America today. Terrifying actually, because you see how normal life looked before all hell broke loose...)
"AMSTERDAM (AFP) - Rare photographs and a short film of Anne Frank, whose diary of her time in hiding in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam made her a symbol of the Holocaust, are now available online, the Anne Frank House said.
The foundation's website -- www.annefrank.org -- features the only existing film footage of the young Jewish girl, taken in 1941 before her family went into hiding during the World War II occupation.
The black-and-white clip shows Anne Frank leaning from a balcony, watching the wedding preparations of one of her neighbours."

1. I saw that film clip.. |
|
in a documentary a few years ago. I remember bursting into tears. I read the diary when I was about Anne's age, and I felt connected to her, a misfit and so free-spirited.
Seeing the film, it hit me how young she was, and how lovely.

7. I wonder how many Anne Franks there are in Iraq? |
|
I wonder how much longer we would have waited if germany didn't declare war on us before we entered?
still seems like genocide isn't a very important priority to us concidering everything that has happened since...
guess we who never forget just gotta keep on pass'n the word.

8. I Had The Opportunity to See Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam |
|
a couple of years ago. It was one of the most sombering sites these eyes have ever beheld. To actually walk in her footsteps was amazing and so very sad.
Anne Frank's life is always a shining example of what happens when hate rules the world.
