CNN is vulgar! They are presenting themselves as Fair and Balanced but they are not. They are more wrong wing than Fox.

Everybody knows that Fox is a Wrong Wing channel. The majority of Americans believe that they are getting the truth from CNN.

3. TURN OFF YOUR TV!
Seriously, 95% of television is crap, and virtually 100% of TV news is propaganda, plain and simple. My wife and I recently moved out into the country, and between the longer commute I drive, and all of the extra chores I've got to get done, I rarely have time to sit down and watch any television. The best part is I don't miss it one bit! If I want news, I hit the net, and for local news sports and weather, I watch either the half hour local news show at 10:00, or the early one at six.

I've found I don't miss anything, and my psyche is much better since I'm not subjecting it to a daily dose of stupidity/insanity.

I won't get rid of my TV, there are a few things that are worthwhile viewing, but the time I spend watching it has been cut dramaticly, and I'm better off for it. I would suggest that you turn it off also. It will rot your brain, surely as sugar rots your teeth.

4. TV and Propaganda
>>Seriously, 95% of television is crap, and virtually 100% of TV news is propaganda, plain and simple.<<

From Brainwashing America, by Dr. Norman Livergood.

Personality Profiling and Simulation

In an earlier article, I reviewed the varied aspects of personality profiling and simulation. While serving as Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department at the U.S. Army War College, 1993-1995, I conducted studies on profiling, psychological programming, and brainwashing. I explored and developed personality simulation systems, an advanced technology used in military war games, FBI profiling, political campaigning, and advertising. Part of my discovery was that:

unenlightened human minds are combinations of infantile beliefs and emotional patterns

these patterns can be simulated in profiling systems

these profiling systems can be used to program and control people

Personality simulation systems are being used to create political campaigns that apply voter profiles to control their voting behavior. TV commercials and programs use personality simulation to profile viewers to control their purchasing and viewing behaviors. And sophisticated propaganda and brainwashing techniques are being used by the Bush junta to keep American citizens under control.(my emphasis /jc)

<snip>

"The average person in the US watches about four hours of television each day. Over the course of a year, we see roughly twenty five thousand commercials, many of them produced by the world's highest-paid cognitive psychologists. And these heavily produced advertisements are not merely for products, but for a lifestyle based on a consumer mind-set. What they're doing, day in and day out, twenty-five thousand times a year, is hypnotizing us into seeing ourselves as consumers who want to be entertained rather than as citizens who want to be informed and engaged. We need to take back the airwaves as a sphere of mature conversation and dialogue about our common future."

5. Very frustrating
They even call *his ads "news". A few weeks ago, I swear they showed the ad on the "news" more than it actually ran on TV. God, yeah, it's frustrating.
