Not for nothing but where are the rest of the vietnam vets in this?
Why are none, either in politics or even just in general coming to Kerry's defense on this and decrying it as deplorable behavior and smear tactics from the right. Where are the many other guys from his unit who have publicly praised him before.

Is it just that they are waiting to pull this out, or are people just continuing to be cowered in fear over this admin?

Kerry shouldn't have to be tooting his own horn over this and defending himself.

1. Kerry has many vets doing grassroots campaigning for him
his buddies who served with him had gone around the country getting support for kerry during the primaries. they were with him in his senate elections also.

2. Where are they NOW?
Why is John O'Neill's mug on tv talking about Kerry's service? Why is Karen Hughes getting press talking about Kerry's service. We need to get these guys on TV and talking to reporters and appearing with him now.

3. Just because corporate news won't tell you
...about it doesn't mean it's not happening.

Most Vietnam vets I know are mad as hell about having a new quagmire the Pentagon has lied us into, and they're speaking out and they're starting to organize.

Just don't expect the coproate whore news to report on anything but the flyboys who love Bush.

4. I for one will toot Kerry's horn for him but I have no real voice
I am a Vietnam Vet and will stand shoulder to shoulder in defense of Senator Kerry. I am amazed that any Veteran would back someone who took their service so lightly as did Bush*. I consider Bush* a coward and a spoiled child where as I consider Kerry a true American hero and a man to aspire to become like.

5. It's just disheartening that we don't hear those voices...

I can't believe that any veteran or vietnam vet would stand for what is being done to Kerry.

6. Kerry should make one conclusive statement about Vietnam and cut off
any further discussion. It pisses me off that the likes of Karen Hughes has an honorable man like John Kerry on the defensive about Nam. On the other side, we (DUers) had Bush on the defensive about his record so how did they switch tables with us? Where are the voices saying:

No WMD
700+ killed in Iraq
exactly who are we handing off sovereinty to in Iraq?
Countless civilians dead (Folks, did you ever think that if they won't let you take photos of the U S dead what about dead Iraqi civiians.

The list goes on and on just as Bush's lies, but where is this great cumulative voice overwhelmingly denouncing Bush??????

7. I've always felt that anyone who served
in Vietnam has more right than anyone to else criticize/not criticize the war. If they wanted to throw medals, ribbons or eggs or whatever - so be it. I'll take any one of them any day over the lying deserter some people call president.

8. The media is all about Bush winning. Not all sides get heard.
I'm sure if you took a poll of Vietnam vets, the majority would pick Kerry over Bush if the question was, who served their country in the most patriotic way.

I think that we are seeing the right try to make Kerry look as bad as Bush looks with his AWOL record.

The problem is that the media is whoring for Bush.
