1. Well, it was going to be a pleasant surprise in October...
when bush and bandar, having made a pile from the high prices, pull the prices back a few notches & pick up some votes for bush. doesn't look like that tactic's gonna work since people put a spotlight on it. so they're probably just going to go ahead & rake in the bucks.

6. Actually
With inflation, gas prices now are wayyyy cheaper than the prices of the 60's and 70's. Those prices adjusted for inflation end up going to about 10 dollars a gallon.

7. I wasn't
driving in the 60's or 70's so it didn't affect my pocketbook like it does now. Now is all that matters;)

8. Gee. that's funny
I haven't seen our wages increase in the last 3 years to keep up.

That logic only works if it was a gradual change from then to now.

We are talking about the last 3 years.

Why not bring up how much they pay in Europe, that is far more relevant, isn't it?

Are you unaware that the price of gas effects the price of every other consumer good, and that show will be dropping soon?

What we are talking about is runaway inflation, and we have no room left in our budget to stave off a depression.

9. It is already affecting other prices
Have you realized how much higher food is lately? And other things as well - lumber, steel, you name it.

There was a big article in our local paper last weekend about how gas prices are affecting food prices.

10. Did I say anything about that?
I was simply stating a fact. I wasn't defending the gas hikes or anything of the sort.

I dont know where you get off assuming I'm unaware of something just because I state a simple fact.
