Karen Hughes: Abortion Rights, after 9/11, is anti-American, pro-Terror

If that doesn't make the president's approach to reproductive rights clear enough, just listen to presidential adviser Karen Hughes, who this weekend likened supporting abortion rights to terrorism. (They learned nothing from the Rod Paige teachers' union melee, apparently.) Hughes said: "I think that after September 11, the American people are valuing life more and we need policies to value the dignity and worth of every life. President Bush has worked to say, let's be reasonable, let's work to value life, let's reduce the number of abortions, let's increase adoptions. And I think those are the kinds of policies the American people can support, particularly at a time when we're facing an enemy and, really, the fundamental issue between us and the terror network we fight is that we value every life."

4. Karen Hughes
Guys and gals this is the same woman who suggested (even though she no longer worked in the White House) that President Bush fly the plane onto the aircraft carrier and the sign "Mission Accomplished" be draped across the tower.

5. what a cheap whore!
If Repugs valued life, they would not be starting wars with innocent populations just so Halliburton can make a profit.

6. I believe that lowering abortions and increasing adoptions is a good Idea
so long as it's the birth mother's choice. Of course that is not what Hughes and the other righties are saying if you include all the parts of their opinion.

8. What the heck?!
I've heard the "9/11 changed everything" slogans before, but now 9/11 supposedly changed "valuing life" and the issue of reproductive freedom?

These people will use 9/11 for EVERYthing!!!

11. 9/11 Changed Nothing For Those. . .
. . .who had been paying attention. The ignoramuses who weren't aware of the global view thought we were perfect, and that nobody with have the guts to attack.

Their ignorance turned into fear, and now it's a convenient excuse.

"Everything changed after 9/11" is code for "I was a dumbass for the last 25 years."

19. Yeah, but...
But chew on this on:

" So far, at least, it looks as though abstinence education hasn't kept Texas teenagers from doing what comes naturally stupidly. On the contrary, Texas has the fourth highest AIDS rates and ranks second, behind Mississippi, in births among teens ages 15 to 17, according to a new study by the Annie E. Casey Foundation that draws on federal statistics. Chlamydia and gonorrhea rates are among the highest in the nation, according to Texas Department of Health statistics, and have increased since Bush became governor in 1995."

Gee, thanks George.

10. If they honestly valued life
there wouldn't be so many people suffering in this country and there would not have been a rush to war, either. If they valued life, our vets would be treated with the dignity they deserve.

What a sham they all are.

13. Value life????????
By going to war, dropping tons of bombs on civilians, and even today implementing cluster bombs on the citizens of Falluja??

Value life by killing upwards of 15 000 Iraqi's, detaining over 20 000.......

Value life by sending over 700 US servicemen to their deaths over a unjustified illegal war against Iraq.

Value life by condemning Palistinians via unconditional support of Sharon's brutal policies, apartheid mentality.

No thanks Karen - keep your values to yourself.

14. I am a glutton for punishment so I watched the last few minutes
of Scarbourough Country last night. Apparently the Philly's are giving out pink baseball caps to mothers on Mothers Day this year. They are giving them to mothers as young as 15 years old. Of course the ass wipe Joe thought that was ludicrous. I guess the republican idealogy is to deny women the right to choose, limit their access to contraception and if they do get pregnant when they are teen-agers, publicly humiliate them.

16. Where do the Bush Gang really stand on family planning?
This is a snippet from the Bushbook! If you want to read about the entire Bush/Family Values Scam check this out!

SNIP> Bush and Draper

Twenty years before he was U.S. President, George Bush brought two
"race-science" professors in front of the Republican Task Force on Earth Resources and Population. As chairman of the Task Force, then-Congressman Bush invited Professors William Shockley and Arthur Jensen to explain to the committee how allegedly runaway birth-rates for African-Americans were "down-breeding" the American population.

Afterwards, Bush personally summed up for the Congress the testimony his black-inferiority advocates had given to the Task Force. Note #2 Note #2 George Bush held his hearings on the threat posed by black babies on August 5, 1969, while much of the world was in a better frame of mind celebrating mankind's progress from the first moon landing 16 days earlier. Bush's obsessive thinking on this subject was guided by his family's friend, Gen. William H. Draper, Jr., the founder and chairman of the Population Crisis Committee, and vice chairman of the Planned Parenthood Federation. Draper had long been steering U.S. public discussion about the so-called "population bomb" in the non-white areas of the world.

If Congressman Bush had explained to his colleagues "how his family had come to know General Draper," they would perhaps have felt some alarm, or even panic, and paid more healthy attention to Bush's presentation. Unfortunately, the Draper-Bush population doctrine is now official U.S. foreign policy. MUCH MORE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Congress is wasting you money this week by doing a week of hearings in defense of traditional marriage - Ho Hum...maybe they can get Bob Barr to testify.

Slime Master Hughes...considered the source.

The world is being blown up and they are caught up in a marriage debate.
