We're doing the work of our Democratic Leaders...and I'm Mad ! |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-26-04 11:01 AM by familydoctor
I am so gosh-darned sick of the well-deserved outrage here amongst the ranks being met with such a tepid response by our "Democratic Leadership" in Congress and elsewhere.
Either that or they suggest ludicrously (and I think insincerely) that we should "bring back the draft". That's just a dumb thing to say. First, it gives Bush license to do it. Second, Bush can then legitimately blame it on Democrats and say "it was their idea".
Here on DU, there is so much intelligent analysis and "telling it like it is (see Top 10 Conservative idiots)" I wonder: "where the heck are our leaders and why aren't they going to bat for Kerry" like DU leadership and AAR has.
We have one Repub Congressperson after another going after Kerry on "his war record" when it is a 1,000 times more respectable than Bush. Where is our side going after Bush day and night?
They are nowhere to be heard. At least I, a news Junky, can't find them.
There's gotta be some changes around here from the top to the bottom. Pussy-footing around by Democrats is getting really old.
We're doing the work of the Democratic leadership, they seem like a bunch of cowards.

1. Maybe because most of them supported the stupid invasion? |
|
Most Dems are as much a part of the problem as the neo-cons, although ostensibly for different reasons.
The fancifulness and naive ideology that gets us into these Vietnam/Iraq morasses never ceases to amaze me. The decades that it takes to dig ourselves out of these holes does nothing to stop another stupid move.
The military/industrial complex rules this country and it's face comes in many guises, including "people" like Joe Fucking Lieberman.

2. Amen! I feel the same way. |

I am so angered by this administration it has become obsessive. The roof is indeed falling and I think DUers are the only ones willing to repair it.

3. Cheer up and read these articles on Cheney at Democrats.org |
|
http://www.democrats.org/specialreports/cheney_record/index.htmlAt the bottom of that article, there is a link to another fine article. I found these links right here on DU, on another thread.

4. First of all: Kerry needs to rid his campaign of repukes.... |
|
Gore did the same thing. Surrounded himself with DLC-types - who are NOTHING BUT REPUKES with a "D" after their names.
And, if I'm not mistaken, Kerry has a couple of repukes that haven't even replaced the "R" after their name with a "D".....I guess he thinks he'll get better advice??? If he's that stupid, he deserves to get beaten by bush.
Kerry took a hard right turn after he rearranged his campaign. He's going the wrong way down a one-way street. Someone needs to jerk a knot in him, and help him wake up. HE WILL NEVER WIN BY APPEALING TO REPUKES! The vast middle of America wants to see someone with fire and conviction, crying out for truth and justice. And mostly, they want someone with the BALLS to stand up to what is wrong in this country!!!
Man! I really miss the primary campaigns! THAT was when we were hearing the real message get out. I'm sure the repukes who program the voting machines wanted to make short work of that primary campaign: too much was being brought to light by all our candidates concerning the corporatist ownership of America, and the bush policies.
Dems, during the primaries, were really starting to rally behind Dean and Kucinich, and Sharpton & Moseley-Braun's messages of TRUTH. Even Edwards and Kerry were starting to sound more like Democrats! Wesley Clark was brilliant -- spouting Dem philosophy, but making it sound main-stream. We owe Dean's campaign a huge debt in this country for what they've done to mobilize Dems. I miss the good ole "primary" days. Thanks to Kucinich that he's still going at 'em!
Kerry had better wake up and smell the coffee. The GALL of bush or rove to question Kerry's service record! Kerry should be going for their jugulars....but he's busy "defending" himself. SCREW THAT! Make bush defend HIMSELF! It's a winner, 'cause there IS no defense for bush or rove!

5. They must be "asked" to comment on the air.. |
|
It's not the the corporate media's advantage to "hype" Kerry, so they are probably screaming at the tvs just like we are.. They have their rightwing media whores on the radio 24/7 slamming Kerry, but we have internet streaming and a few AAR channels that a lot of folks don't even have access too..
It all comes back to the media...
They could be screaming and hollering, but if it never makes it on the air...no one hears it..
