Josh Marshall writes Kerry's next speech. But will JK use it? |
|
Since the Kerry team is too weak to come up with these obvious talking points on their own, JM has helpfully provided a blog post which will do nicely. Link: http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2004_04_25.php#002880All Kerry has to do is print it out, and read it during his next speech. Will he? I doubt it. Why not?

2. I think that would cause * |
|
to become unglued. I would do it only if I had a war consigliari, had lots of soldiers already mattressed, and had all the families together in it. Then yes, I would say this thing.
The fifth column attack from Woodward and Dean is still causing them to trip up, rather than spin. Do not waste their effort in delay. Do not alienate your progressive base. The undecideds are ready to hear that America was misled into Iraq. And they want to know why it was allowed to happen. Kerry needs to get behind the 911 commission in a big way. He needs to show the * timeline.
Do not forget the whack foreign policies while you enjoy kicking the cowardly lion. Talk about renegotiating Kyoto based on a realistic model of China as a modern economy. Talk about Newspeak environment, health, and education.
But Kerry has heard the wedge issue, it is the testosterone factor. Bush rents, Kerry owns.
If you take down the real Capo, the others will fight each other, and you at the same time. Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft and Scalia are the rest of the oligarchy. Take down Rove. Josh's statement is the wedge, *'s ego is the knife. When Bush distances himself from Rove, Rove will have to hit Hughes and Cheney for policies sake. Rove and Cheney are critically entwined in the Plame affair, Hughes wants his job.
Rove has created a centrifuge administration. Time to drop a ball bearing into it. Making Bush stand up without a script and fight it out would be the debate killer of the century. It also might pry the Cheney group apart. Let a little light in, and I fear a lot of dark things will leak out.

Not too much spin there. :eyes:
Kerry has given countless 'strong' speeches and made countless strong statements. I'm always amazed by these prophets and writers who think they can do better than Kerry at beating Bush. Will he take heed of Marshall's piece? I hope so. Will Marshall and other detractors heed Kerry's words already spoken? I have my doubts.

4. you're right - this is what he needs to do |
|
"Don't get mixed up on the details. Take this directly to the president. Tell him to turn over a new leaf in life and stop being a coward. If the president wants to attack or question your war record or what you did after the war, tell him to do it himself. No special deals, no hidden help from family retainers, no hiding behind Karen Hughes. Tell him, for once, to fight his own fights."

6. I said this yesterday.... sniff |

And I didn't even get paid for it!
"And Babs' skirt, and Laura's and Torie Clark's and Condi's... seems Georgie always sends the womenfolk out to take the heat for him."
