My email to CNN execs: "This is your viewership!" |
|
Is Sen. John Kerry's Vietnam War medals controversy a relevant campaign issue? Yes 33% 19,156 votes No 67% 38,520 votes Total: 57,676 votes
No internet website can generate 40,000 on-line votes. Please recognize that the majority of your viewership does not support George W. Bush and his policies. Please hear us, and be fair to us and our candidate, John Kerry. Please realize that not all issues are "political." Bush's record of military service is in doubt: that is FACT. John Kerry went to Vietnam, and served. That is FACT. The issue of paying for Iraq war planning with funds appropriated for Afghanistan, to give another example, is not a partisan issue just because it is Democrats who push the issue. The misappropriation of funds is unconstitutional; that is FACT. There is right and wrong in this world -- every issue must not be framed as "politics." Please do not let Karl Rove, Karen Hughes and the RNC frame every debate in their terms. Stand up, and be journalists, please --

It was a bitch letter that stated judging by this poll, your viewers are not interested in the political debate this administration has been trying to engage the people in. Not all of their viewers are * supporters and there are those of us who would like to see the positive image and message John Kerry portrays. I told them there are those of us who would like to see more coverage of the real issues because what Kerry did with his medals 30 years ago is not as important to me as my husband finding a job (who has been unemployed for a year which subsequently affects our health insurance and retirement plans because we have had to cash out money for our future to survive today). I mentioned that I have been watching CNN in disgust all day as they do one fluff piece after another when it comes to the chimp yet blindly follow the will of Karl Rove and engage in making a political issue out of a war hero who fought for his country and saved the lives of fellow soldiers. We want fairness in coverage, the way reporters use to cover stories.

I always tell my republican friends (who are getting fewer and fewer as the days pass) that under Clinton I was able to resign from my job and stay home with our 4 kids because my husband changed jobs 4 times for a better paying job and better benefits (all around, better health, dental, retirement, etc.) and now under the chimp he has lost his state job because of budget cuts and can't find a freakin' job! Thank God for the Clinton years or we wouldn't have money to survive today!

4. I'm afraid that to ignore them will mean... |

that they become even more partisan. Most Americans get any news they get from tv news; it is an important influence. Cable news numbers are nowhere near the numbers for broadcast news, but I think people who watch any news are likely to be voters.
And I admit, I can't resist seeing events from around the world live. I watch.

Pass that on.
Who gives a crap about this medal issue? What a waste of time! Most people whether they are a Democrat a Republican or a Communist could care less if he burned the medals and fed them to the birds! Huh they were HIS freaking medals weren't they???
The only people who get worked up about it already hate Kerry, hey CNN are you trying to get people that already hate Kerry worked up today? Is that the best you can do?? Gotta have the big Kerry controversy du jour, hey isn't there a CURRENT war on or something?
Good e-mail.

6. I've always been an MSNBC gal myself since it started |

and I KNOW they ditched Donahue, and paid for having Savage on(what a piece of garbage) and Scarbourough makes me ill. Still, it's always been my favorite.

12. I sent my complaint off |

I know that I personnaly am not interested in rehashing the VIetnam War. THere are more pressing concerns - like that little mess in Iraq. Ribbons, medals, blah, blah, blah. Me thinks the Right protests a bit too much.
It is kind of fun watching them make total asses out of themselves, though.
