We can sue local city councils to dump FOX NEWS for distortion |
|
of the news, can't we? The cable News is exempt from broadcast regulation BUT the city councils do decide renewal and discontinuation of cable monopolies in their cities and since FOX regularly distorts the news, we might have an argument to reject cable services that include FOX NEWS--due to proven cases of distortion. Then you just roll the tape on the best cases, such as Hannity reporting a few thousand at the march yesterday.
It would provide a new platform and maybe make FOX think twice. And you could go the most liberal city councils first, like San Francisco and Berkeley, etc. They would love to make trouble even if they lose later. IT could embarass the hell out of FOX.
Any lawyers out there?

1. not a lawyer, but a journo...I have my doubts... |

.... if that worked, you'd see people like Richard Mellon Scaife showering right-wing groups to sue every single moderate-to-left anchor, commentator, author etc.
Probably go after the parody sites, too.
dunno for sure, but i see a dangerous precedent.
