Specter-Toomey flame war at FR
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1124088/posts

Kind of reminds me of the various Nader and primary flame wars we have had.

2. Nice post

"But the Republicans in PA need to decide based on REALITY, considering fully the consequences of their actions -- which will be a Democrat US Senate. Is this what you want?"
And you're the arbiter of reality in PA? I hardly think so.

Besides, I will would rather have 52 pubbies with Jon Kyl chairing the Judiciary committee than have 53 with Arlen Specter in that seat.

If Arlen wins Tuesday, I will campaign for Joe Hoeffel for the fall election.

For the Dems to take the Senate back, they have to win 8 of 10 seats that are open. It ain't gonna happen. Specter can and should be thrown away.

Look at his votes, he's with 'us' when we really don't need him. He's not there when we do.

3. Rick manondog Santorum
Edited on Mon Apr-26-04 06:37 PM by chimpsrsmarter
must be in serious i hate myself mode for having to support Spector, there is no way in real life he doesnt really support Twomey. Sucks to be a sell out, if he had any real back bone he'd support him. I hope their negative capaigns cancel each other out and the dem wins in november.

4. Watch out of Toomey
He is to the right of Santorum and we surely don't need him either in the senate.

10. Who is running for the Dems?
I'm in CT, so I haven't been following it too closely... and, do the good guys have a chance against Specter or Toomey?

7. Take notes
and keep them. When the "winner" is set to go in Nov, use the ammo.

11. I hope Toomey wins
Here's my logic:

1. Arlen has sold his soul to bush* in return for his support. Just look at his voting record since Toomey challenged him; he has moved drastically to the right. Therefore a Specter win does not ensure more moderate representation.

2. Arlen has gotten a lot of cross-over votes of moderate Dems in the past. I can't see that happening with Toomey. In fact, I think Toomey will alienate a number of moderate Republicans.

3. A Toomey win means that many Republicans are defying the wishes of their "war president", and Ricky man-on-dog Santorum. I would LOVE to see that slap in the face delivered to those guys.

4. Hoeffel has a better chance of beating Toomey.

12. The fact that PA elected Santorum in the first place worries me
because they could easily elect Toomey, who's much worse than Specter, or even man-on-dog could ever be.
