Does the Iraqi Governing Council Live in the Green Zone Behind Walls?
I've read that they are understandably quite unpopular and widely regarded as stooges or puppets of the occupying power.

I've been wondering how they survive in the midst of the chaos, lawlessness and disorder that is Iraq, post-Saddam. One would think they might be attractive targets to the insurgent forces.

Does anyone know where they live?

2. I see they aren't held in high regard by the occupiers either!!
Aren't they paid an obscene amount of money each month? I know the chief Stooge Chalabi is getting mega rich off the conquest, but how bout the others?

Haven't heard much about them.

Riverbend writing in a heartfelt way about the only person ( a woman) for whom she held a smidgen of respect on the IGC, who had tried her best on the "Oil for food program," getting shot and killed, without any security whatsoever, last summer. Since then, it hasn't been walls, but huge slabs of concrete and ridiculous amounts of razor wire miring the landscape of Baghdad. Salam Pax, a former architect was mortified by it.

From both of them I've understood that all of the rest of the members of the council are exiles who have for decades, lived in Rome, London, NY, and Washington, and who have nary a clue.

Once again. . .how to win the hearts and minds. . .the Neocon way
