Air America's Randi Rhodes is better than Al Franken, for me.

She really dishes it out straight, truth, honesty, and facts. But Al probably is better for the swing votes, the uninformed voters. And Al is funnier and has big time guests. But looking for the cold truth, it's Randi.

I don't know whose bright idea it was to get Franken to do the show. He doesn't have enough edge. Randi, on the other hand, rocks!

4. The difference is though...

Randi is harcore radio, she knows how to present herself on radio, she has lots of experience.
Al, as much as I like him on the other hand is a tv guy, he has facial expressions that help him express himself that obviously don't translate to radio.
I enojoy them both, but for sheer talk radio expertise and experience, Randi hands down. Plus she know knows how to work the phones too, which for me is a big part of talk radio.

9. I feel O'Franken does much better on tel. call-ins. The way they let all

people ask questions. Not just filter out what they want to hear like the Repuke Shadow Government Crime Family does. Franken let's everyone have their say and he honestly challenges them with facts. Maybe that's why some people have a strange feeling not hearing just lies from one side which they can completely agree with which makes them feel good inside and coming back for more.

You can't beat Al's Lush imitations! What about Accountants Without Borders! LOL.

Did you hear Franken's friend, the Pimple Head, say 'I'm not a fish person' when discussing the environment, last week. Oh my Gosh, what a bafoon. But as I say a typical Christian Fundamentalist. They care nothing for the Earth or any of 'Gods' life on Earth. The only care about themselves and what they can rip from the Earth with no reguard for God's future life on Earth.

5. AA is a national treasure

Isn't it wonderful to debate which liberal radio hosts are better than others? :)

I like Al Franken and gave his show a chance and even defended him a lot to people in the first few days but I find myself flipping "tha Factuh" on and off alot. His humor is sometimes a little bit too dry for me (and this is coming from a huge Python fan). I listen more for the guests and his comedy bits...I crack up laughing at the fake ads for the "Oy Yoy Yoy" show, probably because I went to school with a lot of Jews. :) I also loved Bebe Neuwirth as Ann Coulter locked in the green room.

I've been listening to Randi streaming for a good couple of years now and it was love at first listen. I call her "Mom". :) The way she bitchslaps the freepers that call into her show makes me swoon. She's my kinda woman, opinionated and TOUGH. My hero. :loveya:

Besides Randi my favorite show is probably Unfiltered. Those three have phenomenal chemistry, are freakin hilarious, and often talk about issues the other AA shows don't go near. I'm a huge fan of Lizz Winstead's in particular from her work on the Daily Show (hell with Kilborn hosting it was her writing and the correspondents that made it worth watching).

I think this is what makes AA so great, they have a variety of hosts with different styles. I love all of them and think they all do a great job countering the reich wing. The network showcases one of the best things about progressives, our diversity of opinions and approaches. :)

10. nice to have a range of liberal personalities who appeal in various ways

i know some who prefer franken. and some like both in different ways. but i think it's a good thing because it shows that we can listen to different shows and get a different experience while still appealing to liberals on both shows.

11. Randi is funnier than Al.

Al's funny, but he has the wit of a writer: his timing's a little off. what he says is funny, but loses much of its punch in the overly-self-edited delivery. Randi just lets you have it. she's quicker on her feet & it's seamless with her rants - it doesn't seem like she's "going for the jokes" but she hits them effortlessly
