Tired of the Kerry medal story? Then do something!
Write to the major news organizations and tell them that you are disgusted they are spending so much time on this when there are important issues out there to report. Give them some examples of some of these stories they're either not reporting or underreporting.

Here is my letter - anyone is free to copy and use it. Or write your own letter in your own words.
------------------------------------
I am writing because I am appalled by the amount of time that’s being spent discussing, hashing and rehashing the issue around what John Kerry did or didn’t do with his medals he earned during Vietnam. It’s amazing to me that the Republicans are attacking Kerry on such a non-issue, particularly when George W. Bush has such a lackluster, incomplete, questionable, and decidedly unheroic military record. I consider this to be a total non-issue and I’d like to see more reporting on real news and real issues.

For instance, I would like to see a story run about how the Department of Energy is spending an astonishing $6.5 billion on nuclear weapons this year, Bush is requesting $6.8 billion more for next year and a total of $30 billion over the following four years. Why is the Bush Administration building more nuclear weapons when we already have by far the largest stockpile in the world, and when we have such a huge deficit and desperately need funding in many other areas, such as education and health care?

I would like to see a segment about how the Bush Administration has cut military and veterans’ benefits, like the recent proposed roll-backs on monthly imminent-danger pay (from $225 to $150) and the family-separation allowance (from $250 to $100).

I would like to see a report about how Bush misappropriated 700 million dollars that Congress approved for the war in Afghanistan to plan for the war in Iraq.

I have seen little, if any, time spent on any of the above stories. I think that Americans deserve to know about these things.

I want to see stories about the real issues in America that affect lives – not a constant drone of right-wing talking points about what a decorated war veteran did with his own ribbons in 1971. At least he had ribbons to toss.

Sincerely,

I have to admit I've not watched anything except for CNN for any length of time today, so I don't know how much time is being wasted on other networks on this. Please recommend some more media outlets to contact!

1. CNN's viewer-comment line: 404-827-0234
You can leave a message, or wait to speak to an "agent."

MSNBC's number, ask for viewer-comment line: 201-583-5000.

5. Called them both
The CNN agent said he would be forwarding the comment to the producers. He sounded like he was getting his ear bitten off. I just left the same message with MSNBC.

4. Medals
This "news" is a smoke screen, pure and simple. The Republicans don't want to talk about Bush's record.
Invasion
Putting US soldiers at risk by taking actions that increase members in Al Qaeda.
Not completing the job in Afghanistan
Cheating Medicare patients
Underfunding his No Child Left Behind Bill
Racking up HUGE deficits
Not sending enough troops to do the job
Outing Plame
Actions on learning the country was attacked
National Guard non service
etc. etc. etc.

No, no, far safer to discuss Kerry's earned military medals.
Anyone who supports this manure spreading is unAmerican in my opinion.

What can we expect from news organizations owned by corporations?
