Heard about "The Jesus Factor" on PBS this Thursday? Bush "called by God"

» The Jesus Factor

Thursday, April 29, at 9pm, 60 minutes

On the day that George W. Bush was sworn into his second term as governor of Texas, friend and advisor Dr. Richard Land recalls Bush making an unexpected pronouncement.

"The day he was inaugurated there were several of us who met with him at the governor's mansion," says Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. "And among the things he said to us was, 'I believe that God wants me to be president.'"

3. Bush "called by God""
It makes perfect sense to me that George Bush was called to become President of the USA, but who was it doing the asking?

His daddie was the actual shooter in Dealy Plaza back in 1963, so he could do no wrong as far as republicans were concerned. It's why nobody could tell how many shots were fired because of reverberations in the drain pipes from the road culvert where Bush did his shooting. It's why that fat idiot, Alexander Haig--the incompetent officer who "lost" the JFK autopsy photographs, felt himself "in line" to be president, how he blackmailed himself into being Nixon's chief of staff, and Reagan's Secretary of State. It's why George Bush Senior got to be the youngest CIA director ever, why he got cushy oil jobs, etc. & plenty of money for campaigns. And it's why his C-average son, who spent more than a decade shooting up in a liquor bottle, felt himself qualified to be President of the USA.

Was that heaven calling when Bush blacked out watching a football game? Blackouts come from Werneke-Korsakoff syndrome, along with confabulation. No wonder people of intelligence in the White House feel he "zone's out" too often to be qualified for the office of President of the USA.
On election day

Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 03:04 AM by japanduh
... only its going to be the fiery glow of brimstone and hellfire. Beelzebub's got a special place for the global-scale mass-murderers.

Almost wish I could be there.

6. In general - no difference between bush* and Bin-Laden
The difference may be in the details - but overall there is no difference

bush* believes he was called on by god
Bin-Laden believes he was call on by god

bush* believes he can impose his vision on the world through war
Bin-Laden believes he can impose his vision on the world through war

bush* believes he's right
Bin-Laden believes he's right

bush* uses terror to frighten people
Bin-Laden uses terror to frighten people

bush* wants to create a stable Mid-East according to his vision
Bin-Laden wants to create stable Mid-East according to his vision

7. Spread this around to the sheeple
who pray to a 2000 year dead body rather than the spirit within all living things.

From the Apocalypse of Peter found with the ancient texts at NagHammadi

"And they will cleave to the name of a dead man, thinking that they will become pure. But they will become greatly defiled and they will fall into a name of error, and into the hand of an evil, cunning man and a manifold dogma, and they will be ruled without law."

"And there shall be others of those who are outside our number who name themselves bishop and also deacons, as if they have received their authority from God. They bend themselves under the judgment of the leaders. Those people are dry canals."

9. Actually they are praying to the pagan god Mithras
and thanks to Paul of Tarsus, christianity has been screwed up ever since.

11. The Apocalypse of Peter is very interesting
My husband and I were talking about this the other day. In fact, I posted something about it a couple of days ago. In the last 20 years or so, in Christian churches the focus on Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God has changed to Jesus as God. Read the Bible, read Jesus's words. He tells people that he only does what he sees the Father doing. He says to pray to the Father. But what I have seen in the conservative churches I have been to in recent years is that they totally do not pray to the Father any more. They pray to Jesus. Where is the biblical precedent for that? Not to get in a discussion on theology, it's just something I've noticed, and it's something that makes me very uncomfortable.

10. God was a little wierd that day

He showed up in an outfit that had horns, a tail, a hoof, and a pitchfork. Plus, He smelled of burnt sulfur.

He said he was God, anyway. And Dubya said: yeah, I remember that outfit. You wear it every time you drop by for a visit!
