College Pres. Wants Kerry to Speak/Rebutt What Cheney Did There
Oh, this is so backfiring on these arrogant bastards. The President of Westminster College in MO at first issued a statement that he was disappointed and upset that Cheney used his College to launch the vicious attack on Kerry's service record. Now, the President has offered to have Kerry come to his campus, speak and retaliate!!! You can bet that the media will cover it---Bush just set up a guaranteed covered forum for Kerry. In addition, I was listening to C-Span this a.m. and the calls were like 99% scathing against Bush--including guys who are republicans who are disgusted that they are going after a war hero. See what happens when a sneakey little coward thinks he can do these things and all those military and vets won't notice??? Now they are noticing more than they did when Bush's AWOL story surfaced. Suggestion:

I'd like to see Kerry now keep this alive by manipulating it into the noose to hang George. I think Kerry should "call George out"---literally. He should say Bush is a coward who puts forth his lackeys to fight his battles and issue the challenge for Bush to come out and speak about his sterling record, his medals, his AWOL in a war time, and what message his drinking his way through his service sends to people around the world about his commitment to the fighting men and women of this nation. Kerry has to get immediately off the defense and now use it to go after Bush. He couldn't before because of the whining of the media that "that's not fair - you're attacking the el Presidente during war time"...but now, it's Bush who has brought it up. John, you said "bring it on". They did. Now you need to smash him in the mouth with it. You were your hottest, John, when you strayed from script and got mad yesterday---now put THAT into ads and speeches and challenges. GO GO GO

4. Was this college president the same guy who
very effusively praised Cheney for the important speech he had just made afterwards? That struck me as a strange remark. Welcome and thank you would have been enough.

6. Cheney has some explaining of his own to do...
in his own words, "had other priorities than military service" Isn't that interesting. He received two deferments. Where's the "liberal" press on this????

8. A paper headline read on C-Span this morning reported that Cheney's
wife got pregnant to save him from going. This is exactly what a close friend and his wife did back then to keep him out of being drafted, also. So I do know this was a 'technique' used at the time---they were mainly drafting young, single guys or guys with no children. In fact, so many of the newspapers had front page articles that basically crapped on Bush and Cheney and gave a lot of space to Kerry's charges. I think they smell that anyone defending these scum on this against a guy who did serve and was a hero will really offend their readers, especially since all the news is war all the time these days. These newspapers aren't dumb---they don't want backlash. Bush and Cheney are getting their butts whipped with a stick today.

Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 08:18 AM by rchsod
but i didn`t. i was on a student deferment when my wife and i had our daughter, then i quit school and recieved my draft notice. i refused to go into the army and they ruled me 4f-i was crazy. some did get a "marriage" deferment but alot more didn`t. i`m still trying to figure out how you could have gotten more than one deferment...
