Bush secretly appoints future DICTATOR of Iraq, to curb Shia theocracy!!
THis is DEBKA, so take with a grain of salt, but this is almost surely true, I believe.

http://debka.com/article.php?aid=833

On April 16, DEBKA-Net-Weekly 153 named the Mosul-born former Maj.-Gen Mohammed Abdullah Shehwani, 57, recently appointed to head Iraq’s National Intelligence Service, as the man Washington has secretly tipped as Iraq’s future ruler. His Director of Operations will be a Jalal Talabani loyalist, United Kurdish Party intelligence chief, Kosart Rasul, who led the Americans to Saddam Hussein’s hidey hole in December 2003. To further strengthen the hierarchy-in-waiting, the US administration in Baghdad named three new heads for Iraq’s armed forces: Gen. Baker al-Zibari, 56, a Kurd, to be senior defense adviser to the caretaker government and liaison between government and army; Gen. Amer al-Hashemi, 58, a Sunni, as chief of staff and a Shiite, Lt-Gen. Daham al-Assal, 63, as his deputy.

-snip-

THe appointment was also in the WP.

700 + US dead, 14,000 Iraqi civilians dead, 22,000 US wounded or sick--all to appoint another Sunni dictator?? THis is deja vu all over again!!

Hoo boy!

1. Well taken with salt, but I wouldn't put anything past * and Co.
What they really want in Iraq ia another Saddam Hussein, preferably one THEY can control.

2. This figures since the whole Bush plan has been based...
...on deception and lies.

4. I'll say it again...
Although this story has a dubious source, the only logical way to peace in Iraq is what I figured out last year. That is, America wants a kinder and gentler Saddam.

They need a strong man with a strong militia to keep the warring factions under control but to do so with fewer (only, perhaps, less obvious) atrocities. The Bush* administration figured this out a long time ago and they are moving swiftly in this direction. In the first phase, the new Saddam will be propped up by American forces which will rapidly be replaced by a well-paid Iraqi-based military.

The dangerous phase will be that period of time while the American military is propping up the new government...

There isn't any Iraqi George Washington out there to unify the country.

5. You appear to be right.
And Saddam was Rummy and Poppy Bush's SOB before he obliged them with a war on Kuwait.

Then they also get to keep PNAC's 2 huge CIA bases we now have in Iraq, right in the middle of the Mideast.

They never really cared about democracy, just the PNAC PLAN.

Watch out if Bush is reselected and he reinstates the DRAFT in April, 2005. Then its WORLD DOMINATION time. The DRAFT will give them the millions of soldiers they will need, while a perfected Airborne Laser (currently able to burn a basketball-size hole from 180 miles away), will give them a fabulous new BIG STICK in the sky to scare opponents with. If perfected, the ABL will destroy missiles in their boost phase.

THe ABL flies this year!
