Wedge issue between white native Floridians & Northern Republicans. |
|
There is a wedge issue here in Central Florida which can be used against the Republican transplants that are changing Florida's political climate. Just heard from a fourth generation Floridian, and without pushing the argument, this came out of her mouth: "The problem with Florida are the people coming down from up North, and in particular New York. They come down here and buy property for six months and then they run for office. They change everything we've been doing down here because they say that it's not the way they did it in New York. Suddenly, property that we've been fishing in for years is off limits because they've overdeveloped every where else. Well, I95 runs up all the way up to New York and why don't they get on it and leave!"
I say, I was favorably impressed.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I see it all the time, all the way down to school board members.

3. I'm not a native Floridian, but I definitely see it too. |

I also see that there are some Floridian good ole boys who help them along. You have the two most greediest subgroups come together and it's poison on the environment.
