I'm wondering if what I just heard on AAR is a Sirius ad or an Air America ad, can someone verify?

It was a Partnership For a Drug Free America ad that stated, "Ecstasy is as dangerous as sticking dynamite up your butt". Now, I've never used ecstasy so maybe I shouldn't talk, but I know plenty of people who do and they all say it's really safe (other than the hydration issue).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but sticking dynamite up your butt will kill you dead every time. Does Ecstasy kill you every time you take it? If not, how can TPFDFA get away with this blatant false advertisement?

I don't understand this recent ad campaign trying to convince people that ecstasy is terribly dangerous. I've only tried it twice in my life, but know plenty of people who've done it a lot.

I think there ARE long-term problems with excessive use, but dropping dead doesn't seem to be one of them. I imagine that E, like any substance, might possibly kill a very small number of people, but then so will peanuts.

It's this kind of overblown hysteria that makes people NOT believe the truth about drugs. When I was a kid in the '60's we were told repeatedly that one hit off a joint would turn us into junkies. When we learned it wasn't true, we didn't believe ANYTHING they tried to teach us about drugs.

I've had a couple in the past. You're more likely to be damaged by impurities. One of the tabs I did was an opiate/amphetamine mock-up. Hell of a comedown. After that I laid off the stuff.

I have to think, however, that sticking dynamite up your butt has to be at least incrementally more dangerous than taking just about anything that is not 100% effective poison.

Perhaps we should write a grant to test this under Controlled Laboratory Conditions, and recruit some Freepers with, "heh, how would you like to get paid to help in the war on drugs."

The people I know who fooled with this stuff...were never the same again...a few became born-again christians. The rest are chronically depressed...specially in the winter.
