No oath, not recorded and a transcript will not be made.
Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 02:31 PM by BlueEyedSon
So what is the point?

What happened to my country?

Source: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=615&e=4&u=/nm/20040427/pl_nm/security_bush_dc

At the administration's request, Thursday's unprecedented questioning of a president and vice president at the White House will not be recorded and a transcript will not be made.

Their testimony will not be under oath, but White House spokesman Scott McClellan said they "will tell it exactly how it happened."

1. Your country has always been here...
Big Brother has always watched out for us.

Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia.

4. Imperial Amerika grows more and more like the Old Soviet Union
every day.

Not quite there yet, no thanks to the Imperial Family Bush, because Bunnypants* and Heartless Dick would have the 9/11 Coimission members Guylagged, instead of manuevering a pointless sham.

The Pointless Sham is the last tip of the hat of the Imperials to the Old Republic they are trying to finish off.

5. Disgrace!
If nothing else says what lack of leadership we have in this country then this does. It's a national disgrace.

Let's keep this kicked. It's a secret government. I will never forgive them this. Anyone that cares about those that died on September 11th, those that are dying in Iraq should never forgive this. NEVER

6. 'they "will tell it exactly how it happened."'
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, if they are going to tell it "exactly how it happened" I don't blame them one bit for not wanting it recorded.

7. "will tell it exactly how it happened." ??????
Since no one but the commissioners will hear the testimony, how will anyone ever know IF they are telling it EXACTLY HOW IT HAPPENED? No oath? This is the joke we have all expected to hear.

10. Just in case they acceidentally tell the truth
This way they can claim they never said it and blame it on poor note taking on the commissions part. Nope, they have NOTHING to hide, do they?

11. This was reported before. Permission has been given for one
person to take notes. Not sure, but I think the notes are for reference for the Commission members only.

Don't get too crazy, wait for the Commission Report at the end of July or early August. It's actually better that it bring information out later in the year. Things said now will be forgotten by June! Big news that surfaces in August or September will be hanging out there by Election Day.

12. Well...
The WH gets to scrub the report before it's ever released to the public.

And as far as the closed doors, not under oath crap, I'll just quote *

George W. Bush(April 14, 2004):
"--a country that hides something is a country that is afraid of getting caught. "

13. Country that hides something is a country that is afraid of getting caught
Brilliant! That was my favorite line of that press conference.

Oh irony, Mr. President.

WE are living in a bad science fiction movie, aren't we?

15. Yep
That's as far as I got when reading the transcript. I really just couldn't take any more after that, but I had to save that one because I knew it'd come in handy quite often.

16. Agreed! However, I 've heard at least 8 of the 10 Comm.
members say that it will be their report, and although it gets reviewed for "security leaks", they will find a way to get their report out to the public.

I don't trust ANYONE in this WH, but I don't think ALL Pubs are evil either. Ben-Veniste, Kerrey, Gorelick, Hamilton, and Kean appear to me to be looking for the FACTS. All of them hae almost guaranteed a unanamous vote by the Commission. I'm willing to give them a chance.

I've listened to all the testimony that was publicly available and so have most of you. We'll know if there's a cover-up.
