Bragging about using exploding and spreading ammo.
How horrible. Are these like cluster bombs?

1. I don't think so
It came from a C-130 Spectre, I think....so cluster bombs weren't used.

4. Nukes and MOABS do
I'm not sure about some of the other stuff. They had some nice mushroom cloud effects during Shock and Awe last year.

5. technically, bombs don't make mushroom clouds
what makes the mushroom effect is the combustion of a gas in the air, fuel air bombs do it, gas clouds do it, nukes do it. but few bombs will do this unless there is something flamable in the air surrounding it.

6. Most explosions make mushroom clouds.
Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 04:16 PM by Spoon
I was almost kicked out of boy scout camp for one that was visible from quite a distance away :)

Edit:

Jar full of gunpowder, in case anyone was wondering (don't try it at home...)

14. I think you're right
the heat from the explosion rises very quickly and combines with smoke, debris etc and continues to rise until it cools or is cooled by the atmosphere..........

jar full of gunpowder?

LEAKED VIDEO FOOTAGE OF AN AC-130 SPECTRE GUNSHIP ON A COMBAT MISSION IN AFGHANISTAN

The bombing of Afghanistan by U.S. military forces demonstrates the deliberate use of illegal weapons such as bunker busters, cluster bombs and other depleted uranium weapons systems to precision target civilian populations, water supplies, and infrastructure. Afghanistan is a poverty stricken underdeveloped country which poses no threat to the United States or any other country.

This unauthorized leaked 7.5 minute video(14) permeated the internet in the spring of 2002. It shows the destruction from an AC-130 Spectre gunship on a combat mission in Afghanistan.

/snip/

The plane circles a ground target counter-clockwise and annihilates it.

In the radio traffic from the AC-130 plane the crew sounds like kids playing a video game. The crew is engaged in combat but from a safe distance and without any threat or resistance from the human targets on the ground. The video shows people leaving a mosque who start running for their lives as they are fired upon. The AC-130 continues circling and firing on individual Afghanis below. The crew sounds like “rednecks” picking off varmints on a Texas ranch as they talk back and forth and fire on the Afghanis one by one:

“Yeah, I was trying to lead that guy…..he was hiding behind that bank….he’s down, he’s still moving…..I saw him fly into pieces….”

U.S. NUCLEAR POLICY AND DEPLETED URANIUM TESTIMONY AT THE JUNE 28, 2003, PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL TRIBUNAL FOR WAR CRIMES IN AFGHANISTAN CHIBA, CHIBA PREFECTURE, JAPAN

(14) Combat video of Afghani civilians targeted from an AC-130 Spectre U.S. military plane

I also suggest going down to the heading:"BOSNIA AND KOSOVO" and read about the depleted uranium in bullets which are REAL WMD because they lay around and poison the people, the land and the groundwater for DECADES, possibly longer after the US has "done their business"

It should be interesting to note that this Depleted Uranium that the US uses in both it's ammunition and it's armor is used in massive amounts in countries whee the US has an oil interest

OH,

did say O-I-L?

I furgot,

it's not about oil

8. I have two points...
1) Is it really a war when one side cowers behind its air strikes and tanks, while the other is out in the open?
2) Will you still sing the same song if the tide turns against the occupiers?

11. And is it war when the citizens of a country are fighting for their rights
Is it war when they disagree with U.S. puppet government slowly being put in place for them instead of the true "freedom" Bush so brags about?

20. The US invaded Iraq. Iraq did not declare war on othe US
Is it war when a powerful nation invades your country, unprovoked, kills and maimes thousands of your citizens, disrespects your religion and culture and you fight with anything you have to DEFEND yourself?

That is not war. Yes, war is war. But this is not war, this is a massacre after and invasion and occupation!!

17. Maybe Fuel Air bombs
- Or napalm.
- Or igniting aluminum nitrate after dispersal (not sure if that is the right chemical).

I guess we have found the WMD - "we have found the enemy and they are us".

The U.S. military is da BAD GUYS in this one. When y'all can grok that in its "Shock & Awe" splendor, then maybe we have a chance to survive.
