"The terrorists in Fallujah are getting a taste of what a full
scale US military action is like". This was the lead in statement on the 5:00PM radio news. OK, I am not going to explode right here and mess up the board, but I think that the statement is one the most infantile and irresponsible pieces of garbage I have heard since the last time Kimmet opened his mouth:mad:  :nuke: :nuke:
Simpering, pompous, blustering assholes.

1. Maybe the terrorists are
It is the innocent children I am more concerned with.

I am finding it so hard not to hate these people with every fiber of my being right now.

*praying for guidance*

2. Well, I guess that it is fortunate that C-130 gunships don't have
consciences. I have the feeling that we are being very indiscriminate in what we shoot at. And I really hate these damnable media types who bluster and spew their machismo, all the while stuffing socks in the crotch of their pants, it just makes me want to scream!

5. I can't remember if the C-130 was called Spooky or Puff the Magic Dragon
but I do remember that they would spray down a field of fire that would put a bullet in every square foot of a football field in less than three minutes. A lot of fire power but not much accuracy. It is hard to be accurate while flying a thousand feet above ground at three hundred miles an hour and spraying fire from a couple of mini-guns. No one is safe in the fire zone.

10. I think the AC-130 is called a Specter
Puff the magic dragon was the nickname for a Huey (maybe different kinds of helicopters) in Vietnam armed with a Vulcan cannon.

12. Actually Spooky and Puff were the same a Douglas AC-47/DC-3....
PUFF the Magic Dragon

Call sign; SPOOKY

(also sometimes called Snoopy)

. . . with 200,000 candle power flares to light up the night and 3 mini-guns each able to spit out 6,000 rounds per minute (every 4th one a red tracer) is it any wonder that captured Viet Cong (VC) and North Vietnamese Army (NVA) documents referred to the "Dragon's" reputation, containing orders specifically to "not attack the Dragon because it would only infuriate the monster."

Douglas AC-47/DC-3

Spooky Squadron Gun Ship, nick-named "Puff The Magic Dragon,"

At Fire Support Base Coral when 1 RAR were in deep trouble and fighting for their lives Puff was one of the supports that helped them turn near defeat into victory.

The jungle-camouflaged AC-47, whose ancestors include the venerable Douglas DC-3 airliner — considered to be the world's first, successful, commercial airliner; an aircraft famed aerospace historian Douglas Ingalls referred to as "The Plane That Changed The World" — and the Douglas C-47A Skytrain, the aircraft Supreme Allied Commander, General Dwight David Eisenhower, once credited as being one of the five weapons that helped us win World War II; is in fact, itself, a D-Day veteran, one of hundreds of Skytrains that delivered paratroopers, gliders and supplies, behind enemy lines in Normandy, on June 6, 1944, some 58 years ago.<snip

13. What terrorists would these be?
That's like saying the terrorists in the WTC got what they had coming on 9-11.

15. Just trying to be agreeable
As in, I'm not even going to bother arguing that, while children are screaming in pain, breathing their last breaths on this earth, wondering why they are being murdered.

3. The Iraqis are attacking military targets.
They are not terrorists, they are patriots, waging a hopeless war against an enemy of overwhelming strength.

6. Come on
Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 05:21 PM by BradCKY
I already heard about the new Al Qaeda plot to blow up 80,000 people, they luckily caught them.

This is not just one unified force of terrorists attacking us, its many factions trying to drive us out, then wage their own war for control of the country.

7. So....
...how do you come up equating with what's going on in Fallujah, and what the Jordanians "claim" to be a plot by Al Qaeda.

In other words where is your connection between the two.

17. The vast majority of the 'insurgents' are Iraqis
trying to take their country back. What they do after the invaders leave , is up to them.

18. Modern technology and weapons...
...against a third-world country with nothing but small arms and homemade bombs. Are we supposed to be proud that we can kill 'brown people' by the hundreds?

- This would be called war crimes if committed in another time by another country.

Night vision. Explosions. Clouds of killing and death.

It's morbid.
