I think I've figured out why the fighting in Iraq makes Bush* look good.
When some people see the fighting in Iraq (by which I mean the sanitized clips they show on TV), they don't see a failed policy, or a wasteful war we shouldn't have started. They see a problem, reguardless of the fact that Bush* started the problem. Then, they think that big bad ol' Bush* is just the cowboy to clean up that town, not "Kerry the wus". We want to hold Bush* responsible for this error, they turn to the Texas toughman to fix the problem. It's hard to believe.

2. was there something important we were talking about yesterday?
I can't remember ... all this bombing talk today is a distraction ... is there a 911 hearing going on? Is anyone important up this week?

It's like someone fed the media piranha ... here Candy ... here Wolf ... here Diane ...

3. beautiful strategy isn't it
you start a war that you know will be a disaster and drag on.

Then it turns into a disaster and drags on, but people support you for exactly that reason.

Bush has once again put his own partisan interests over the interests and lives of people in the US and in the world.

Sounds like treason to me.

5. Rally 'round the flag
People cling to what they know. Unfortunately in America it's "kill the bastards". It'll pass in time.
