The Kerry Rope-a-Dope
Is he crazy, like a fox? I'm beginning to think so. For the past few months, the Bush hate machine has been attacking him relentlessly, spending tens of millions of dollars on ads in battleground states. Meanwhile, Kerry has been quietly smashing campaign contribution records, leveling the playing field. And, he's within the margin of error in most polls. In other words, the Bush campaign has been haemorrhaging money--to little avail--while Kerry bides his time.

It's early goings yet, people. Don't lose hope. Kerry's a fighter; he's been through campaigns such as this before (though, admittedly, not at this level).

I don't think the fat lady has sung just yet...

Thoughts?

5. No way
The fat lady has not even put on her sensible shoes to go to the theatre yet.

And if she warming up it's for the Bush demise. There are way too many motivated people against Bush and Republicans who will not vote for him.

Relax............

"The fat lady has not even put on her sensible shoes to go to the theatre yet."

That line bears much repeating. It's a damn funny one and if it's yours, kudos! And Welcome to DU!

6. It takes more energy to swing and miss, then to land a punch.

11. I sure hope so, but, alas, Kerry's (in)actions have all the hallmarks
of the same risk-averse careerists who buggered the 2K campaign. To me, it looks like the only person with any stones at all is Kerry himself.

12. That's my not-so-secret fear.
However, he'll get a decent PR bump from his veep choice, whenever that announcement is made. With any luck, he'll have a pretty fat wallet going into the summer.
