GW's boy Victor Ashe nominated as ambassador to Poland
Edited on Tue Apr-27-04 06:27 PM by God_bush_n_cheney
KNOXVILLE -- Former Knoxville Mayor Victor Ashe was nominated by President Bush on Thursday to become U.S. ambassador to Poland.

If he is confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Ashe would become the fourth Tennessean serving as an ambassador. The others are former Senate Majority Leader Howard Baker Jr. to Japan, Margaret Scobey to Syria and Michael Polt to Serbia-Montenegro.

Ashe, 59, left office in December after serving 16 years over four terms as mayor. Term limits prevented him from seeking re-election.

In January, he began a stint as resident fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government's Institute of Politics at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. His classes end in May.

4. Speaking as a Polack...
I can verify that there are big delicious sausages there. Maybe even too big for Dumbya to wrap his smirk around.
