What do you guys think about this little scenario...?

Liberal books are selling like hot cakes and the fire is growing underneath the President...seems that any book bashing little Georgie will be a best seller.

So Karl takes a little look and says, "Hmm, I have an idea...since these people are buying Bush-bashing books left and right why don't we get our butt boy Woodward to write a little "expose" only instead of really being an expose it will drive home our talking points!??"

"But of course we have to make it seem like an "anti-Bush" book so let's float a little "controversy" about Bandar and Saudi Arabia, etc. "

Now we all know how interested the average person is in geo-politics so it's not like this story will be lost on the "eduacated" masses...*ahem*....but what the American public WILL come away with is the extent of Bush's POWER...ie..HE CONTROLS THE PRICE AT THE PUMPS.

So it's sold as a "scandal" when really it is just a steath way of getting through to the peasants that ole Georgie is gonna drive up oil prices if you don't elect him next November.

1. Did it not also come out virtually the same day as John Dean's book?
All the hoopla seems to have sunk Dean's book a little.

2. I believe that is the way it happened, to a point.
Woodard said Bush asked him to do the book. I think Woodward got taken in. The question Woodward is asked the most, and it was to be expected, is if Bush is really the one making the decisions. Woodward goes out of his way to say that Cheney wasn't around at all when he talked to Bush. Well of course not ! How hard was it to have Bush prepped and Cheney to be scarce for 3 1/2 hours ?

That was the main point Bush/Cheney wanted to make and they pulled it off. Bush is a strong, fearless, God loving man. Just ask Woodward.

3. uh ..... I think that's a stretch
these people aren't that smart, and they've got bigger fish to fry, like starting world war four, than coercing someone into writing a book so that they can convince people that George Bush controls gas prices???

Sorry, but you might want to put down that bong. :)

4. I totally disagree, maggrwaggr.....
It has puzzled me more than once how strange this Woodward book is. And the sleeze-balls in the white house get LOTS OF THEIR KICKS out of thinking they're "outsmarting" the opposition here at home. Rummy, Wolfowitz,Pearle and their wingnut generals are handling the war and freaking out the rest of the world.

The U.S. propaganda is merely a fun SPORT for the chimp and his mafia crew. I'm sure they figured they pulled a smart one with Woodward's book. Woodward is slime, just like the rest of them.

:kick:

5. I dont think its a big stretch..

And I dont smoke weed...lol...

It wouldnt be that hard to say.."Hmmm, liberal books are selling well eh? Sounds like a good way to get our message out...make people believe they are buying a Bush-bash book but it is really just full of RNC talking points..."

Doesn't seem far fetched to me.

6. In all fairness I have to say...
...that I haven't read the Woodward book but when I saw him on 60 Minutes putting the blame for our current predicament on George Tenet it didn't sit right with me. On a more superficial note, Woodward LOOKS and SOUNDS like he's lying. I kinda trust my gut instinct when it tells me that someone is lying and Woodward doesn't strike me as being totally honest. There is something in the expression on his face and the careful, measured way he speaks that sets off warning bells.

7. This is exactly what I have been thinking about the duplicitous
message Woodward has been conveying. The book says a lot about Bush being strong, in charge, yadda yadda. The Rush's and Hannitys can explain away all the rest and what you have left is Bush-is-the-greatest-man-to-have-ever-walked-the-earth. It's not mistake the White House has it posted on the website as recommended reading.
