Michigan Preparing To Let Doctors Refuse To Treat Gays
Basically, the article states that the Michigan House of Representatives (Republican dominated), has voted to allow doctors and health care providers to refuse "service to anyone on moral, ethical or religious grounds"!!!!
Please take the time to read this article in it's entireity. Tell me if you do not find this one of the most offensive moves by a political body in a very long time! We must be aware of this action and the potential for it's spreading to other states!!! Can you imagine this vote for any other minority? There would be rioting in the streets, and justifiably so. Now, what do we do about this??

1. This Michigander says thank God for Granholm's veto.
Actually, I don't think this will pass in the first place. The doctors are furious about it, and other rich core GOP constituencies want nothing to do with it, either. Still, give it a few years, in a second Bush term, and it will be there.

3. Hippocratic oath now null and void in MI?
This is insane.

No. This is legislature approved hate. "I cannot treat you because I hate .

MI residents better register as Independents and never discuss anything personal with their heath care providers beyond their health.

Unbelievable.

4. Stiv Bators from the "Dead Boys" got stabbed in NYC. He was wearing
a swastika tank-top at the time. The first doctor that saw him was Jewish and refused to treat him. I'm not saying this was right or wrong nor am I trying to make a point of any kind. It's just an interesting story the post made me think of.

5. This is blatantly unconstitutional
the courts would throw it out in a heartbeat. Luckily they won't have to since there's no way it's getting past Granholm's desk.
